A bit of luck but also a testament to the safety of modern cars.

Hard to tell what happened. Looks like he came over that crest going way too fast and without the car pointed straight?

Worst crash I've seen. That guy was going FAST! I watched it a few times and can't see how he would have gotten around the turn at that speed

Was driver of the car with the video not wearing a helmet? Is that not a requirement on the Ring? Crazy crash. What an incredibly lucky guy.

I was following a sti at pacific pushing him a bit thru turn 1 and saw similar accident first hand car coming across track in front of me. Was an early session and I had hard time getting back to pace all day. Shook me up. Thought guy was dead.

hard to tell what happened, but that dude was in the grass before that turn even came up. i'm not sure how quick i would get out in that particular area of the track. the second car that came along chose a safer spot.

Just before the spot where the guy was on the grass there is a big crest and you are doing around 230kph. If you do not have the car totally straight you are in trouble. I suspect he didn't and everything went wrong before he came into picture...

But that lefthander you can take at 200kmh or slightly less if you are not brave.

Not on the Turistfahrten - when you buy a ticket for single lap. Then everything goes as it is considered like a normal highway. I've seen buses on the track
