Endorsement for VMR CSL reps - strong wheels
Just had the pleasure of jumping a curb with the front passenger wheel after sliding out on a mix of black ice covered with concrete dust (street repair).
Impact was a low speed and the car was driveable - albeit with the alignment off and a slight funny feeling around the center. I had the winter setup on the car - 18" gunmetal VMR CSL reps from EAS - took everything in stride. No funny vibrations, no fractures - just a cosmetic blemish. I paid $800 shipped last year with a nice promotion - a true bargain IMO. The only thing I don't like about them is that the paint finish is a little fragile - then again, they are my winter setup and perhaps pick up more than a fair share of crap from the road... But they are strong...

Eh, just don't repeat my experiments.

Front control arms and strut, passenger side. Also a bumper scrape and a wheel scrape. It's insane how expensive these repairs are...
