And @RingMeister01, how in the world do you always pull off these awesome events. You know that I am struggling right now to get a handful of people to join us in central NJ for half a day.

Car is finally back... a week and 4 days later. Failure found in VANOS solenoid valve from all that contaminated oil, all traced back to injector failure. Quite a nightmare for the service tech.

To pull off a good event;

Make it interesting, make members aware of the event, organize organize organize, always deliver on what you are promising and don't promise something you can't deliver, go to everyone else's events, it's not about you but all about your guests. Last but not least - worry, triple check everything and don't sleep.

Tim, if we're following that route outlined above. Shouldn't we get a place around the Kingsport, TN area?

Based on that route, we'll be hitting the Dragon's Tail around late afternoon (5pm-ish). Should we be concerned with traffic? We might have to re-think this route.

Is this what we're looking at?:
10/11 - Drive/fly down; meet up for dinner
10/12 - 8AM - Start driving
10/13 - Drive to Summit Point to track?

Yes, I think the schedule you listed will work fine and a hotel along the route is a great idea! The meet up in Tennessee should be in the afternoon and a dinner around 7/8 to talk the entire run and Summit Point over. I don't think we need to commit to anything more than this right now;

Updated info;

There are many hotels for us to stay along or near the dragon. The average rates I have found are $140 - $160 per night (queen/king single bed). So fave there is availablity for the weekend we are planning for the run. We def need a final list of attending and a pool to pay for the rooms.

Update;

Lodging has been confirmed with the Smokey Mountain Manson. It's a huge house with 6 beds/baths, game room, kitchen, deck... and literally a stones throw from The Dragon. If we all split the house evenly, it would come out less expensive than separate rooms. Plus it'll be a great time staying together. We will stay 2 nights.

We will meet at the house on Friday the 11th at 5pm. Getting there is up to you. After our meeting we will go out for a dinner and discuss the morning run.

Please PM me ASAP if you are interested in attending this epic event. I have to get back to the hotel as the house will go at any moment.
