Horrible day for My baby!

I was eating at this local restaurant. When I heard people talking and looking outside the window. I walked out to see what happened. Literally my worst nightmare. Some jackass who just got his driver license hit my m3...I am super upset. Because I knew this mineral white color is super hard to match perfectly. I am thinking about going with OEM replacement for the bumper. Hopefully his insurance will cover all of these. Seriously though, student drivers suck..

as long as the damage is in plastic
i don't care
worst case you get a new bumper, repaint it and you're as good as gold
if this were the rear fender, that's what really freaks me out since you have to paint half the car!
this should be fine
i once painted the rear bumper on my 08 M3 for some scratches when i scraped a bush
came out perfect

I will agree that MW is hard to match, as is ANY pearl.

It isn't bad at all though. Could have been much worse.

How did the dumbass make the turn too tight on the driver's side? Tough to not correctly judge the distance when it is right in your face.

yeah.I am not too worry about resale value. I am going to keep this car. So I just want my paint to match up perfectly. Yeah thank god it wasn't the rear quarter panel.

have had similar damage done to my mine - very, very easy fix for most body shops. you have nothing to worry about.

I believe he backed out of a spot opposite of mine and never actually look back too check out his rear view mirror. This is not his first accident in this type of situations. His girl friend told me that he got his license 4 months ago and already had 3 accidents. They should have taken his license away.

man...this sucks...

i'm glad this was done to the plastic bumper at least...
i'd just keep the bumper, good news (from what i see) is that the scratches do not look so deep.
Like others said, any M3 colors (especially those M3 specific colors, from jerez black to mineral white) are hard to match. but these days those local shops with good computer paint match softwares do a great job on painting these parts.
I had a clear coat peeling off at the very edge of wheel well but the local shop painted the whole rear bumper. They did an amazing job matching my 09 Jerez black paint.

Yeah I will just have to find a good auto body shop, hopefully they will have good equipment to match those paint.

yeah Jerez black is also a hard paint to match..

Find a certified BMW collision center in your state, they use the BMW color system paint, and will be able to match perfectly...yeah...ask how I know

While I understand your pain, consider yourself lucky that they didn't run, they accepted responsibility, and that they have insurance.

new bumper for this? No way, even if you buy one, you would still have get someone to spray it and match the color.

Take it to a shop that knows BMW colors and they'll do it in a jiffy for half the price...It'll be about $700 for the insurance. I don't see how insurance would foot the bill for a full replacement. Sorry about your luck man, nothing money can't solve. (not your money of course)

So sorry to see that!

It doesn't look like you need a new bumper. Plus, any Certified BMW Repair shop will be able to color match the factory Mineral White perfectly.

Here in NJ we don't have a test in parking for the driving test as its literally doing a parallel park sequence using 2 cones spaced out the size of a school bus (you can fail that and still pass the test to get your license).
