The stock block is plenty strong even for boosted applications that are making up to 700 CHP. I find it a mystery why someone would want to go to this trouble and expense for an engine that is not even going to be forced inducted.

I am actually in the process of doing a similar project on my M5 S85 motor. Boring out the engine to 5.4L or 5.6L and dropping compression from 12.1:1 to 10.1:1 and Darton sleeves to beef up the walls to withstand the extra boost I will be adding.

My car has the ESS VT2 kit at this time boosting 7psi, looking to move that up to 12psi.

Will be nice to see how this project does also.

The stress and pressure that hill climb engine should take is more than you guys think.

Best is asking Mike@VAC.

Just a little background..
The motor was hydro-locked and instead of buying a used motor, he decided to rebuild his motor for a little extra.

forged pistons with teflon coating and carrillo rods

balanced crankshaft

Is there anywhere online where I can read more about this tuning master?

I am always interested in reading what goes down in the tuning industry
