Welt Delivery 10 May...Anyone Gonna Be Around???

Hey everyone. Gonna be picking up the M on Monday May 10th at about 10 am and after that heading off for the next 8 days on a driving tour that my M Div CA planned for me. Monday/Tuesday night will be in the Lake Garda, Italy area, then off to Monaco, Nice and Monte Carlo (had to go there of course) for 2 days, leaving Friday morning for the Provence area of France until Monday morning when I'll head back to Germany (with my break-in miles all done) and catch the autobahns to Munich, eventually dropping the car off on the 18th and flying home next day.

My wife took one look at all of this "driving shit" and "BMW stuff" and has politely declined to come along so if anyone's over there during this time and in any of these areas, give me a shout and it'd be fun to hook up. All of the hotels that were chosen for me are small, off the beaten path types of places with lots of character and very reasonable.

66 days to go!!!

Just out of curiosity... what is the typical length of time between placing your order and picking up an ED car? I realize it largely depends on the dealer allocation, but I'm just looking for an approximate baseline number. Also, do you have an control over when you pick up or do they give you a date that you have to be there, no later?

There are people who placed orders months ahead and there are people who placed a month before p/u.

You definitely have control over your pickup date. First you give your dealer 3 desired p/u dates and they'll send to ED for confirmation. If you got your confirmation and then placed your order, you will be able to pick up on your chosen date.

As long as you share pictures of your delivery and trip you will be clear of any bad luck.

Robo, I've got a scathingly brillliant idea. Tell BMW they're painting a MCB a week or two before the 10th of May. Maybe, just maybe, they'll paint 2 of them?????

You might try coercing your wife to come along, driving around Europe isn't bad and there's so much to see. Tell her you'll hit Salzburg on the way out of Munich and do the Sound of Music tour or something My wife loved the Welt factory tour and came back wanting an E91, too bad there's no M variant.

PM me when before you leave. I should be picking up mine at the beginning of April. I might be able to swing a weekend road trip from Naples for the weekend.

We'll have to keep it on the down low, don't want people to think I'm "picking-up" dudes on the internet - "not that there's anything wrong with that."

There's a whole ED delivery calendar on another website where you can see who's going to be around - of course it's not just limited to M3's but it's something.
