Hmm, white wheel wells, who knows what it looks like when you open the hood, doors and the trunk.....not to mention under neath the car.....

This MIGHT be an ok thing to do if the car is masked better...........

At the end of the day I've learned that this stuff is really good for switching up the color scheme on little detail parts (I did my rear emblem, which is actually the E36 grayscale flat black one, red as well as the hood vents and side gills)

Wheels were ok when I had those done as the stuff is quite durable but a whole car would be a nightmare as the overspray woul have it all over in places you don't want it. That's what vinyl wrap is for.

Btw, don't get it near petroleum based solvents. Melts it. I learned this while using liquid wrench one day

1. White wheel wells
2. Left side blinkers covered. "To match the rest of the car" @9:53
3. Roof rails
Doesnt look bad, but Im thinking it wont last very long or will turn color? How can you wash that? If you get the pressure washer under it, it will peel easily.
Black plastidip is prob a better route...

I guess this is another way to wrap your car. Seems ballsy but if its 100% reversible I guess its not that big of a deal. If there are different colors the possibilities could be endless.

That's what happens when cars lose too much of their value

Plasti dip holds up very well.. I've sprayed over 6 sets of wheels also have sprayed emblems, grilles and front bumpers. It's very durable. I pressure wash my wheels all the time doesn't effect it one bit.. It's some pretty neat stuff for sure..

Now I would prolly only use the matte white if I had a white car lol insides of doors and trucks would for sure bother me being a different color..

Anyone use this on their track wheels? Might be a good way to make it easier to keep them clean. How does this interact with vinyl clear bras?

Despite its durability, if it's thy easy to be peeled off. What about some monkey passes by and decides to have a look what's underneath the coat?

Any updates to this thread? After years of silver cars, I now have a black E92 M3 and jsut acquired a black '12 Cayenne Turbo. That's a lot of black paint to maintain. My detailer is recommending XPEL PPF but I'm thinking of doing the whole car in clear PlastiDip. Thoughts?

Good from far but, far from good.

Find an experienced place that will wrap in vinyl if you want to change it up.
