Amuse Trunk or GTS wing - GO!

So I have been running the Amuse Carbon Fiber trunk for a while now and I am going to be re-wrapping my car soon. During the re-wrap I'm considering making a few changes to suit a new look... I'm pretty set on what I'm going to do with the car with the exception of the rear - should I.

Keep the Amuse trunk and wrap like I have it now in its new color

Or

Put the stock trunk on and get the GTS wing?

The car is used as my daily and does a lot of rallies, canyon runs, shows, etc... it does not see any track time, I have a separate car for that

Here is the car now for reference with the trunk.

I assume everyone in here knows what the GTS wing is/looks like.

Thanks for helping me with the decision!

I'll bite. I think the GTS wing (you can get a good rep from Mode Carbon) looks great paired with a more track focused wheel/tire setup. Some 18" TE37's/ZE40's or something BBS offers, along with some meatier tires.

Thanks for the feedback - I agree with you on the wing looking good with a track focused set-up, but I have run TE-37 in the past and am not the biggest fan of them... I had 18" black editions

The biggest style changes I'll be making are of course the color of the car via a new wrap and I'll be ditching the Arkym CF hood and going back to the OEM hood... currently debating BMW splitters or a GTS style front lip and of course the trunk V. GTS wing decision.

Stay with Amuse trunk and match it with an Amuse front bumper is my vote

That's my dilemma - I have a different car for track use and this is daily driven and used for canyon runs/shows/rallies/ etc...

I have heard mounting wings to a carbon fiber trunk is not a smart idea....

I was actually kidding with my comment, but yes you're correct. Although the GTS wing is tiny so it would probably be ok with just a bit of reinforcement to spread the load.

Im in the same position.

Been running the trunk for a month and it doesnt have the look that i want.

Im already on TE37s with r888 and supercharged.

Here's what i'm thinking so far. Also street car with small amount of tracking.

APR wing 61" - Track wing
Varis Wing - More of a show car look than track

I see lots of people putting the wings on the CSL CF trunks and was thinking of putting the wing on the amuse. Not sure how it would handle 400+ lbs of down force though.

Love your car - don't see many people running this trunk.

From what I have read, mounting to the carbon fiber can be done, but is generally viewed as a no-no because, while although possible, they weren't built for the force the wing will generate.

Also, my personal opinion only here - I don't think a wing mated with the Amuse trunk will be visually appealing - clashing styles/approach IMo

Looks like theres a chance of the CF clear cracking from the force. My trunk is a rep so im assuming the worst. Ill just resell the trunk and add the wing.

Going to do the APR, gt front splitter and side skirts.

I feel like the GTS wing on a car that never goes to the track is "poser". It's also a bit much for my tastes. Is "OEM trunk only" an option?

OEM trunk only is an option-ish.... maybe.

The car is pretty heavily modified, I'm not trying to make it stock, but I have strongly considered going OEM trunk with CF spoiler... I think if I'd do that though, I'd just keep the Amuse trunk

Devotec, Lukecustoms and TomElektro all run Carbon Fibre trunks with big wings. I've not heard any of them talk about issues...

I believe those are all the M24 CSL trunk. I imagine it has some sort of reinforcements to support a wing. A normal CF trunk (like the Challenge or Vorsteiner) might not work.
