Winter Package- To stagger or not to stagger?
Looking to pick up a winter package for my '11 e92 ZCP and leaning towards an 18" staggered set-up with Dunlop Wintersports. 235/40-18 for the front, and 255/40-18 for the back. I think these would look better than a square set-up. Am I giving up much in traction with the wider rear tires? How are you guys with similar set-ups making out?

Any particular reason?
I've read the old posts but looking for some recent experience. Seems like more guys chose the staggered set-up last winter..... Last edited by Thrumcap; 08-20-2010 at 07:41 AM.. |

I ran a square 245/40-18 Michelin PA2 winter set-up for two winters. Skinny is better if you live in an area with lots of snow and ice. I'm now in PA where the winters aren't that harsh. I am going with a staggered set-up in stock size PA2s to maximize my non-snow traction which will be 98% of the time.
