The Start,

We have all anticipated the start of each race so much that some of them have been, well literally, "nail biters". I can't wait to see the start of the race later today. With all the high end talent now stuck in the middle, and the rear of the pack, I am predicting this start and race to be one of the most exciting we have ever seen for sometime.

Again E90SLAM, great pics,

I'm really excited to see Schumacher mix it up. Expect some screaming from this guy for the first few laps (when he cruises by... ok, not jinxing it)

p.s. glad to see mclaren have a solid start for a change... and Red Bull struggling a bit. Ferrari, oh well. Iceman, cometh!

what a qualifying session
first the disastrous run of the ferraris then the lack of pace from my red bulls and the lock down by the mclarens. i knew brawn had something up his sleeve during winter testing he had this smirk on his face, bravo to mercedes and the mclaren boys, a very impressive p3 for the french kid too - its gonna be a long long season. go RB8

The best qualifying session we've in the past couple of years IMO.

Vettel needs to change his driving style to fit the RB8, he's not used to having less downforce now without the blown exhaust.

Massa needs to be sacked from Ferrari.

Mercedes is showing incredible form.

McLaren is going to be a real force this year.

HRT continues to be a joke of a team.

Perez handed grid penalty...

Quote:
Sergio Perez will drop five places on the grid for Sunday’s Australian Grand Prix after the gearbox was changed on his Sauber following Saturday’s qualifying session.

Perez was unable to complete a timed lap during Q2 because of gearbox problems and thus qualified in 17th. After investigating the issue the team decided to replace the C31’s box. The ensuing penalty means the Mexican will line up in 22nd on the Melbourne grid.

Lotus’s Kimi Raikkonen, Caterham’s Heikki Kovalainen and Vitaly Petrov, and Virgin team mates Timo Glock and Charles Pic all benefit from Perez’s drop down the order.

I will never understand how the team with the most resources can be so behind the curve. Massa doesn't help. He's just a younger version of Barrachello. And Alonso just seems to be too mistake prone of late. Incredible they are so far back in pace.

Agree about Vettel. Going to see how good a pure driver he is now. No longer does he have the best/fastest car. I'm betting he'll get it figured out before too long.

Any chance of rain tomorrow?

This year, it seems that Reb Bull's kung fu is not strong.

LOL at THAT assumption already. I wouldn't pigeon-hole RBR after the first qual session of the year.

we will find out how good of a driver vettel is this season, hes a great driver but it was obvious te past 2 years those red bull cars were much better than the field. with 25% reduced downforce on the rear ends now, it should be interesting.

Cant wait to the start of this one

Red Bull (the drink) co-founder dies at 80.

Bad karma for RB today.

Interesting stat, for five of the past six seasons the winner of the Australian GP has gone on to win the WDC.
