I Googled BrickBreaker High Scores and my name to see if anyone out there knew why some of the high scores were deleted. Plazmic and RIMM haven't given much of an explanation yet. One of the links that came up was your post on this board, so I thought I'd reply.

Needless to say I'm a little addicted to the game. I fly 100K+ miles a year, so spend a lot of time playing in airports and on planes.

If you can make it past all 34 levels twice (about 35,000 points) the ball slows down and you'll accumulate lives after that. There's no difference in skill between a score of 35,000 and 5.8 million, just time.

I have gone through several BlackBerries, and with every new one I have to re-learn the game. My highest score with the Curve (my current BB) is 27,000.

FWIW, my high score on BrickBreaker is like 4,000. The controls are so choppy it pisses me off, and I haven't bothered trying to do any better. I wish BB had a Tetris game.

The controls shouldn't be that choppy. Do you have the side track wheel or the center trackball? Also, I would recommend turning the paddle acceleration option off... it makes the paddle over-shoot the ball too much. And, if you have a tackball and it sticks, then you may need to clean it or adjust the sensitivity settings for the trackball on the BlackBerry.

Thanks, maybe I'll give it a try again. I have a side track wheel, and "paddle acceleration" turned on. I'll try turning it off, but you may be right, it may just be the BB's wheel needing cleaning.

don't remember the stage, but i lost towards the end of the second time around. I suppose it would have become easier had i passed the last stage the second time.
