OEM muffler mod

Hi guys, I read a lot on the subject but still confused
I bought a used oem muffler on eBay and will my mechanic will do the mod but I would really need to understand how it works...so there are 4 perforated pipes inside, and the more pipes you replace by solid ones, the louder it gets? Are there any vids of this modification? Any input and link very appreciated...

Still confused...I found this video and I like how the second car sounds, but hate the sound of the third one...sounds like a tractor at idle...

I have an spare exhaust on the way but I'm still unsure which mod is the right one...I would like it to sound almost normal at idle and a bit beefed up at higher rpm's...so to get the result like on the second car in de vid, I just need to replace the 2 perforated tubes inside, right?
Thanks

I think it sounds like a tractor because it was a cold start. I have the most aggressive OEM mod and after it warms up, it purrs at idle and screams at WOT.

I just switched from a Magnaflow exhaust system to the OEM mod... The second car in the video was the Mod when you replace the Non-Perf pipes. The third which I didnt like either is the straight through or ACM Mod where they bypass the perf pipes. Its loud and it drones. I seriously love the perf pipe Mod. No drone, awesome sound above 4000 and under acceleration, but nice and quiet when cruising around...

The 3-car comparison video was taped and edited by me as I wanted to hear the difference myself in person before deciding on which mod to do.

Ultimately, I decided to go with the Non-Perforated mod because it doesn't drone AT ALL and is nice and quiet while cruising on the highway.

As soon as I hit the throttle, the exhaust comes alive and sounds amazing.

For me, it's the best of both words. Quiet when I want it to be, but loud when I want it to be.

The Non-Perforated mod is the equivalent of "A lady in the streets, but a freak in the sheets". LOL

No. I had all four sections of perf pipe replaced. There are two sections with large holes and two sections with smaller holes. There are only two pipes but two sections on each pipe....
