that money factor/residual is not the best I have seen for the M, but it is decent. not sure if you can negotiate those terms, I for one have never tried. the purchase price, however, is ridiculous. with all the people on M3post getting a few hundred over invoice with a simple email or PM, you have got to be able to do better. worst case scenario, order from a forum sponsor and wait 3 months or so

If anything over $500 is too much... well... you would be able to finance only
27K @3.9% over 5 years, regardless of what you buy, and for a car costing
75K the amount up front would be 48K!!! (taxes and extras excluded).

I, for one, would rather use somebody else's money now and have a higer
monthly payment than tieing up my cash against cheap money and
also because I can always make use of my money elsewhere or just
leave it in the bank.

Below is a possible scenario that I would sign up for anytime:

MSRP 72K
Agreed price (ED) 62K
Down 2K
Term 60 mos @ 3.9%

$1100 a month

Tell me how I could get my monthly payments to 500 bucks without a load
of cash upfront? ---- Just can't be done.
solid advice. I got 1.9% for 60 mos so I decided to put only my trade-in equity down, and no other cash upfront. I have investments that pay me better than 1.9% apr so I come out ahead. of course, I had to negotiate the trade in value and purchase price ($600 > invoice) that I wanted

I have gone through the same thinking over the past few years. I have ordered a new m3 and the payment on 36 month 10k lease is $865 for me. I want a new car every 3-4 years so purchasing is not an option. To purchase the same car and have it paid off in 48 months I would need to put like $35-40k down and my payment will still be much higher, like $1100+, then what, sure I would own it but it's now out of warranty and I want a new car. For me I am not going to have that much coin tied up in a depreciating item when I can lease with only paying the drive offs for $865 per month. My 8+ yr old suv has been paid off for years and is out of warranty but its cheap to work on and serves me great for home depot runs etc, I will keep it until it dies, since it only got 101k on it. I think it just depends on everyones situation. I could lease a new 911 S but I am not paying $1650 per month for a car, I guess that's my limit. I purchased my 535 in 08 with 30k down. Got bored with it 3 years later sold it and lost some of my down payment, a few thousand. Now the cash is staying in the bank and I will lease. I don't "need" a $70k car, I could just drive Honda which is a good car, I "want" an m3 and life is short. Does it make financial sense? No, driving my paid off Ford makes the most sense and putting the $865 in the bank. Again, life is short, enjoy it, make sure you are maxing out your 401k, savings, and paying your mortgage off early, taking nice vacations every year, then if you want, get your m3 : )

Best advice so far,the world is ending in 11 months so I should get the
M3 while I still can lol.

To be honest, your payment is ideal. Or something in that area.

i like new cars every few years too, so leasing makes sense.

The most important thing you need to do is make sure you get the sale price down to something competitive. The capitalized $$ make all the difference in the payment. Every $1000 off is approx $30+ off a monthly payment!

Man, you Americans are lucky. $865 is considered a deal to lease a 335i here. M3 is usually at least double. I think I will go over to the European or Australian regional threads and read about their M3 prices. Misery loves company, LOL.

OP, $1000 off is too little. There's a thread on 2012 deals, over in the Pricing, Ordering, etc. section. Good luck!

Wow, $1150/month? I'm paying a shade more than that, but I financed mine for 5 years at 2.9%(6k down). I financed because I will never lease a car ever again. I just think you have more options than when leasing without mileage restrictions. Also, if you lease 2 cars with the same payments back to back(36months x 2). You'll own the car outright at the end of year 5(in my case) without any more payments to make. Yes, there's maintenance fees and depreciation, but if you keep the car, you aren't throwing money away.

But whether you are leasing or financing, it has to fit your situation. I'm sure I'll look at the new M3(or M4) and feel the urge to trade. I may not want to keep my M3 due to other reasons(family). Do shop around for better price, that's for sure. GL!

That's a rip off man, talk to Ryan Amico on the forums (Steve Thomas). He will give you at least 100 off that price. As long as your credit is good.

$75,675

Basically fully loaded. If iam lucky i could knock off $1000 from the price, Or at least thats the impression iam under. So lets say total cap cost is $75,000 even. $0 down With a money factor of 0.00175 and a residual of %58. Total monthly payment would be around $1150.

That seems kind of steep, Iam looking to get the payment is the high 9's, How exactly should i approach this. Is it worth lowering the money factor?.

Let me know from experience. Thanks alot guys.

Just curious. For those who mentioned only paying a very low amount of cash down.....there is no way the payments would be under 1k a month unless you are getting a car in the range of 45k and a new M3 is no where close to 45k........

For payments to be that low...you would have to put down almost 15k....not including tax to just stay under 1k.

I would like to know for those who have bought a M3- .....amt down..and payment.
That's exactly how I do it. I wait til the car hits mid $40k range, I'm not paying 70-80-90k for any car. Not into making poor financial decisions. But I'm just as happy with a $45,000 m3 with 30,000 miles and have just as much fun

just bought my e90 a few weeks ago. its pretty stripped, MSRP of $63050, but I was able to get it for about $59000 with BMW loyalty. My lease, with $2500 down, is $690/month, including the 5.1% sales tax.

you seem a long way off.
I know its a little apples and oranges, due the price diff, but my mortgage is $1185/mo

It appears you lease/buy price is MSRP. Your post said fully loaded; are there any other options included with the car that you did not list. I recently purchased a 2012 E92 M3 ZCP with everything except cold weather and performance exhaust. I was offered $68,500.

I think you can do substantially better. Good Luck!

when i make it online with the same options it comes out to $500 cheaper then the dealers asking price which is $75,275 they are asking $75775 give or take $100.

If i could get the car for $68-69000 i would def be able to get a low $900 payment.

I made mine online too. The BMWNA build sheet was $72450.00 including the gas guzzler tax. With $3000 total out of pocket the lease offer was $915 for 36 months with 36000 miles. The finance offer with $10,000 down was $1125 a month for 5 years. I would run your deal past Ryan Amico at Steve Thomas BMW. Email or PM GOLFRR. I believe he is one of the sponsors on this site and he is affiliated with Steve Thomas BMW out of California. With that said I know your in NJ. GOLFRR can put you in touch with Ryan. You can run all the specifics of the deal through him. He will let your know if it's good or bad. I believe you can order the car through Ryan and have it delivered to your home ($1500 or so for NJ?). It still may be cheaper than the $75,275 you are being offered. I think he will be able to offer you something much lower.

Let me know how it goes. Good Luck!
