Trav,
My M3 went into production on 24 Oct, and is still on the boat (California Highway) no tracking capability but it's scheduled to arrive in Brunswick, GA, on 29 Nov. I'm told I can't schedule pickup at the Performance Center until it clears customs, just like others in this forum. How'd you get yours scheduled already and for what date?

My CA sent in the electronic application to the PCD after my car went into production (it all happened very quickly). We were worried that they wouldn't accept the application since it was after production started. After a few days, I got in touch with the delivery center to find out if I would get scheduled, and they said yes, everything is fine with the paperwork. But they told me about what you are saying, couldn't pin down a schedule because they didn't have a reliable time frame for the 2012s to get through customs.

It was about a week or so after that that my CA called me and said we had a scheduled date for PCD, Dec. 12th. He forwarded me the email and then a few days later I got an email directly from the PCD with my travel form and brochure and all that confirming my 12/12 date. They just said to wait until inside of 3 weeks to finalize my travel plans. Sorry you didn't have the same experience.

My car cleared customs today, and I'm sure is in route to the VPC.

I hope I get a PCD date that is before Christmas...

Ok, thanks. So when exactly did you get your delivery date? Maybe mine is just taking that much longer to get across the pond.

It had just gotten on the boat, maybe a day or two after it left. I just checked the bmw website and my car is in the US.

Ok, I'm confused... You got your Performance Center delivery date while your car was still on the boat? Not after it had arrived and cleared customs? Happy Thanksgiving by the way!

I don't understand what a lot of you guys are saying. I had a confirmed PCD date the day or so after my car went into production

I'm confused too. Sounds like half of us got a date right after production started, and half were told they couldn't get one until the car had cleared US customs over a month later. Guess it's time for me to call the Performance Center myself.

Yea they were expecting the 2012's to be released on Oct. 15th. So I had Nov. 1st as my date. They messed up. Mine is an extremely rare case though.

Update: I got my CA to connect me with someone at the PC since I was anxious that they wouldn't be doing deliveries the week between Christmas and New Year's (they aren't) and that my holiday travel plans would get all screwed up due to a late delivery. When I talked with the rep on Friday just before the boat had hit the port, she penciled me in for delivery in their last slot left before Christmas! Car cleared the VPC on Monday, confirmation email came in from the PC today. Anybody else gonna be there on 22 Dec to get the best Christmas present ever?

+1 to this!!! I have a confirmed PCD date and I got it while my car was in production. The email from the performance center said its based on my production number. The car just finished production and is awaiting shipment. The PC just asked me to not make any travel plans until 3 weeks prior to the date!!!
