Enjoy your car.

Yep, for 2012 e92 M3 production started with PW 36 (two cars went into production one week early). However, with the all of the EPA emissions and, now, retesting for fuel mileage, no one in the US has taken delivery of their car. My car had a PW 36, arrived at the VPC on 10/5 and has been sitting there for a month now. So having an early 2012 PW didn't help in the end because M3s are just stacking up at VPCs and we still do not know when our cars will be released - every week we get new info saying "released next week" but then it doesn't happen. I'd rather be in your situation because knowing your car is here but you can't take delivery sucks!

I am unaware of any parts issues from suppliers for "standard" e92/93 m3s; however, I believe at one point there were some issues with getting parts for "individual" e92 m3s. The person that is most knowledgeable in this area is a certain person you are currently having issues with.

Who did you get your info from? Do you if the parts issues are for standard or individual m3s? There has been no shortage of m3s arriving at the VPC centers so it could still just be your PW - did you get that from your CA yet? I need to call me CA today about something else but I'll ask if he's heard of any recent production delays due to parts suppliers. Just so you know you are not the only one waiting a long time to get your car...I ordered mine back in July!

my CA does a lot of individual cars. He has offered me plenty of them but chose my own composition. Im in no rush since i am trading my current DD but i would like it to get here in time for xmas. Yes i spoil myself. It would just be ideal is all. Its cool to know im not that only one waiting but this is something that BMW should address.

I placed my order on Sept 27, so far both online and phone status has kept saying that the order has been received but with no scheduled production date yet, so I finally contacted my dealer yesterday and he told me that the car is actually in production already and will be out of production around Nov 16th. I guess they don't update status online/on the phone very frequently...

When you call the 1-800 number speak to an operator - they have info that's updated daily whereas the automated system and website get updated ~weekly.

Address what issue? There are a limited number of production slots for M3s. If you are having an M3 built to your specs then it will take usually 1.5-2 months before you take delivery. The issue right now is production of the 2011s ended, they take most of Aug off, and then they start production on the 2012s. Even if you had a PW36 build you still would not have your car due to EPA and CARB certification. My car arrived at the VPC on 10/5 and it's been sitting there waiting to be released. It looks like end of this week or the beginning of next week all 2012 M3s will finally be released from the VPC/VDC!

I placed my order in the beginning of August. My car sat in the order bank forever. Even after I got my production number. Eventually, I got a new lower production number (I think my CA got sick of me bugging him every couple of days and moved me to the earliest slot he could find to get rid of me) and that, too, was in the order bank forever.

For over a month, I'd call the 800 number and the rep and computer would tell me that I'm scheduled for production, but with no confirmed production date.

Then one day, I called and told the rep that I know it's not in production but I'm calling anyways for the heck of it because I've made a habit of calling once every morning (lol)... and it turned out that it was now in production. I ended up with a PW (production week) 37 car.

Car got to the port here on Nov 2 to be tied up in the EPA delay (hard to complain when I've seen others held up so much longer), but it's looking like all that may have been taken care of now. I'm hoping to see the car by the end of the week.

On the bright side, thanks to the delay I was able to find an even better price on the performance exhaust - saved another $500 and it got here today, so I'll still be able to try to get it installed on delivery day.
