ain't that the truth? I am still a track newbie, but that shower after the first day and looking at the wrist band knowing you're gonna have another one just like it tomorrow...priceless.

Love this. I remember coming home from a track event with three wrist bands on--one for track admission, one for my HPDE run group, and one for the next higher group since I got advanced that day. I just had to show my kids--"Look, Dad got promoted to the next group!"

This is one of the best threads ever!!!!

You know you've been to the track when...

... your neighbors ask you if you're planning to open up a tire shop soon as UPS drops a set of tires nearly weekly in front of your door

... you start rippin the backseats and "unnecessary jung" out of your brand new 1 day old ride before it even got license plates on AND you weight each part before you store them in your garage

... you start thinking about how much the end weight of Akrapovic will be and if you really need them

... you're angry that BMW doesn't build the e92 M3s with a underhood carpet so you don't have an easy take of part to save some weight

... you start thinking about if your really need those HID headlight or if the lighter Halogen H4 headlights will do their job, too

... you start thinking about if you really need that black carpet under your roof

... you took your door panels of just to check if you find any unnecessary parts in there which you don't really need anymore

... you don't have a TV anymore in the living room during winter time as it's now the track tool for the winter time

You know your girlfriend has been to the track when...

... she starts training the Nordschleife on your "winter track tool" on a daily basis to improve her lap times next summer

... from one day to another you find the back seats of HER car layin around in garage!

... she asks you if you know the exact weight of the 9x18 ET30 OZ Ultraleggera wheels while your sitting together on a sunday morning having your breakfast

This is still one of my favorites. People keep telling me I need a brake job and I promise them my brakes are fine and I can stop in half the distance they can.

You tailgate a Corvette for 5 miles on the interstate and aren't surprised you don't get a point-by...

Those looks! LOL! Nobody has said anything to me, but when they finally do, I'll just play into mindsets like this's and smile with a pained look and say, "Yeah, you think I should oil them?"

Ya, that could get you in trouble in my household. The E30 & E36 M3's were bought by the wife before we got married, and she tracks them, so best not to ASSume girls don't own ///M cars.

You use the similar wrapping method to tie a towel onto a beach lounger as you do to wrap a harness onto a roll cage!

[True story this week in Florida! It works too!]

bump of an old thread...

You know you've been to the track when...

...you get to the point where the only sections of this forum that really interest you anymore are Track/Autocross and Suspension/Brakes/Chassis.
