Competition Wheels in Black?

I was reading a thread earlier that there is a way to order Competition / ZCP wheels in Black. Any truth to this?

I found here: http://www.bmwblog.com/2010/01/22/it...n-package-zcp/

All the way at the bottom, it says: 3. Black GTS wheels ARE available, but not until August production (IE after the GTS are delivered to customers)

I saw that too...but got tired of waiting.
I spoke with the parts dept at the dealer here in town as recently as last week...still can't order them. So, they've agreed to send mine out, have them painted for me, when mine arrives.

I asked this same question on the Tire and Wheels post and the best reply was to get the 359M's powder coated

I know someone who works for BMW worldwide who has contacts at M division. I asked him how I would go about getting the GTS wheels for my order. He contacted M division and BMW individual and they said the following:
Quote:
Black wheels for the M3 are available via BMW Individual. Option 2MT in Black high gloss and Option 7MA (Competition Package Wheel) in Black matte. Price additional to the wheel 241,-€ Ex-fac.
He said my salesperson should contact BMW Individual directly. Unfortunately, the dealership I worked with didn't care enough to make it happen for me. Sometime's it's all about knowing the right people. I hope it happens for someone else since my chance fell through.

Member "Mark's M3" picked up a set of the black GTS wheels as an Individual Option. So it's definitely a possibility, just less so if you're a US resident. I'm doing a euro delivery on my forthcoming M3, and adding some individual options to it - one of which I'm considering are the same black GTS rims. So far, I've encountered a lot of resistance about getting these wheels. If i hear anything different, I'll let you know.

Okay, I've been in contact with the Manager of the entire North American Division of M/Invidivual. I supplied her with the information Radiant M3 provided but specifically pointed out that I was referring to the Competition Style Rim (Style 359) in Black as found in the M3 GTS. I cut and pasted this section from Radiant to her in my email:

Quote:
Black wheels for the M3 are available via BMW Individual. Option 2MT in Black high gloss and Option 7MA (Competition Package Wheel) in Black matte. Price additional to the wheel 241,-€ Ex-fac.
She replied:

Quote:
It needs to be pointed out that some options are available in some countries and not in the US because of several reasons not easily apparent to customers including Government homologation, options combinations that required other options not available here and/or options that do not conform to warranty requirements which only saves the customer later hassle.

The Black Wheels are only offered with the M3 individual package which was not offered in the US (see reaons above). The wheel are only available in the US through the Aftersales/dealer installed option. (bold emphasis in original)
My CA doing further research was able to come upon the following information regarding purchasing these rims from BMW accessories:

Quote:
I looked into the cost of the wheels. As I mentioned before, these wheels are still not available, as neither the US or Germany has a set. The wheel costs are as follows:

Style #359M Black Matte finish 2 front and 2 rear -

Retail - $3,405 + tax (wheels only, tires are separate. Does not include install)*

Our list price - $2667.44 + tax(wheels only, tires are separate. Does not include install)*

Your price - $2324.60 + tax(Installed, wheels only, tires are separate)*
So in summary, if you're in the US you can only get thee BLACK GTS style rims through BMW Accessories, but at the moment the wheels are still not available. Hope this helps

Yea that's what the Sales Manager at my dealership told me as well 2 days ago. Either way I've given up on them. And I definitely won't be buying a 2nd set just to get them in black.

Agreed. I think the solution is the obvious one: aftermarket powdercoating. Much cheaper than buying two sets of wheels.

I got a call from BMW NA on the wheels. No go anymore for production builds. Only dealer accessory when they are released.

Gave up as well. My dealer has agreed to send the wheels out and painted before I pick it up.

Sorry to bump this thread, but has anyone been successful in ordering their M3 with the black GTS wheels?

I'd rather just have the car delivered with the black GTS wheels opposed to having to powder coat the standard ZCP wheels...

Any updates?

You can buy the GTS wheels from turner motorsport online. Just search online on that site and order them to your door. They are relatively cheap too in the 2500 dollar range which is a great deal IMO
