He is on 800# rears.

What is wrong with OE brakes on the street?

Haha, I bet that hurt just a little, but at least they're ZCP, like you said, still good looking wheels.

LOL....I know, I know. 20" wheels are just for the street. As for the dampers and springs, it's actually closer to 500/800 on the springs and the dampers are actually good enough that you can dial them down for the street and it rides as good as the stock setup. It sounds crazy, but it really is nice!

I love these LM-R's and need to figure out how to make them fit. for reference, I measured like you did. Looks like I need to really raise the car up compared to what you are running. Here's where I'm at:

23 1/16" front
22 7/8" rear left, 23" rear right

I need different adjusters or a spring spacer to raise the rear more. Also, I raised the car up to unload the swaybar hoping that it would allow me to turn the adjusters easier....no dice. Not sure why I'm having such a hard time with this as it was easy on my 135i. I don't know if it is because the shock is so short or what. With the suspension completely unloaded in the back, my helper springs are almost fully compressed.

The car looks great on the ZCP's, but I still love the LM-R's. Glad I did the ZCP to use as my winter setup (very mild here in Oklahoma).

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I've PM'd a few people with LM-Rs to get height and alignment settings. So far only getting responses from an E92 so I still need some advice from the E90 crowd.
Did you adjust your ride heights?
Im going to only raise my rear 1/4" tomorrow. Bring it up to 23"(fender to bottom rim edge).

Funny you asked. I ordered new rear adjusters today from HP Autowerks to get some additional height. What is your measured wheel diameter? That will help me convert to "fender to center of hub" which is a little more standardized so that others can benefit

Can't say enough good things about Harold at HP Autowerks. He spent about 30 minutes talking to me this afternoon regarding various solutions to this issue and just giving his $0.02 on setup. Ultimately, I know my problem is that my favorite looking wheel setup has problematic fitment with narrow tolerances. Totally my fault for wanting a really cool looking street setup with the ability to throw some different wheels on for the track.

I'll measure the wheels diameter tomorrow.
Im going to set the front at 23.5" and the rear at 23" from fender to lower lip of the rim. I think that should do the trick.
Corner balance and alignment will be done again afterwards.

Where are you rubbing exactly? I'm on Clubsports and my fender heights are 13"F and 12.5"R with 19x11 +15 rears and I don't rub. Although my tires are stretched (275/35/19). On my OEM 18's with 15mm spacers in the rear, it rubs, but only on the plastic. If it's rubbing the plastic liner, who cares! My way of thinking is, if it rubs slightly then you got good fitment! lol...btw I have -2.0 camber in the rear.

I posted my numbers on another thread too, but I'll post them here too just in case you miss them.

RF 23 3/4 LF 23 7/8
RR 23 1/8 LR 23 1/8

From fender to lower bottom edge of rim. I'm on 19s.

Camber is -2.3 up front and the rears are -1.9.

It's working with the stock wheels, but I haven't really tuned it or anything. I'm going to try to raise it up and corner balance it here in the next week. My work load slows down just a touch when school gets back into session. Imagine parents wanting to put braces on their kid right before school

Anyway, hope to have it ironed out soon as I'm taking it to my first driving school in September. Can't wait!!

On a different note, I'm about to post a photo thread and I hope everyone enjoys it

Ok, here's an update for you. I just raised the car up a touch. I'm lowered about 15/16" in the front from stock and about 5/16" in the back. I know the care is raked a little too much. The good news is that the really bad rubbing is gone. There are some rubs but only over really deep and short dips at really high speeds. It is livable right now. Tomorrow I may try to even it out just a touch. On my 20" wheels I am at about 24" front and rear from the rim to the fender. That would be about 23.5" on my 19" wheels.

Monday I am scheduled for corner balancing. It is my first rodeo on corner balancing so I hope I learn a lot. I imagine I will find out how little I really know about setting up a car

You don't happen to have ride heigh measurements you would be willing to share, would you? With all the tracking you do, I would imagine you have it setup pretty nicely

He is on Dinan springs so about 0.5" front and rear.

Thanks man, still trying to accumulate real rim to fender measurements to get an idea of where I need to be. I noticed you raised yours up higher than you were initially thinking. I think I'm going to drop my rear and try to get that 23.5" front/23" rear setup. I like how the car looks right now, but I have a feeling when I get it on the scales tomorrow it is going to have to much rake and the balance is going to be off.

I've decided that I just need some different tires on my LM-R's to make the rear fit right. That means that I can easily lower the back back down to where it was last night. Going to set it up to work at the track with 19" wheels and then go from there. I have a feeling there will be some RAC's in my future but I need to get the BBK's on first before I invest in a third set of wheels

BMW have a good degree of rake compared to a lot of other cars. My ride height is still pretty low, but much better then what it use to be.

RACs are awesome wheels!!!!

The Dinan is about 1/4 lower up front and 1/2 in the rear. The camber plates up front limit the drop and really love the setup as a simple compromise solution but think something a bit better is in the cards for the future. The best "setup" thing I've learned this year is tire pressures, took a while to figure that one out.

I like to set up BMW's with about 1/2" of rake then corner balance it.

Well, that's about where I'm sitting. I may just leave it alone. Corner balance got cancelled yesterday because of a malfunctioning scale. I only have a few weeks before this BMW driving school so I hope to get this done...getting nervous about running out of time!
