Giant Rock Chip....

This is pretty big, not the average rock chip little white mark. Seems to be down to the base. I've read good things about dr colorchip, but is this to deep? There is also some paint fragment that got scraped off the base but is hanging on. I'm guessing i would cut that off and sand down then use colorchip?

Pics attached - any help appreciated.

I had a rock chip just a few of days ago.
I gently wetsanded the area (2000 grit), painted it with BMW's touch-up (enough paint to be slightly convex), let it dry for one day, painted it with BMW's clearcoat touch-up, let it dry for one day, wetsanded it (2000 grit), and used a porter cable to polish it (going from medium to finishing polish). I can't see the rock chip anymore.

I got this one in the first week I had the car.

Of course, this required a trip to the body shop. I heard it happen, but have no idea how a stone came at me sideways like that. I was definitely loud. Dented the metal pretty well too.
