No idea. But look for the comments in another thread. I've no idea where it is though.

I dearly hope you're right...I don't know though, that's only a test mule which could mean anything; there's no rules on what a test mule has. Also, the red M3 is not a coupe but a vert, anyone's guess if that means anything.

I have and AW with palladium silver leather on order and am curious as to if most silver leather folks are going with the extended? I am debating if I should do that or not. Has anyone seen extended and non-extended silver leather in person? Thoughts and/or comments?

Thanks!

I'm actually going with Sliver extended. I like the aluminium trim the most but with an SSII I think I may be going overboard with the silver. I guess the point is that we need to see more pics not just extended vs not, but also with different trims.

The only think I don't like about the Silver extended is on the front dash on the passenger side how there is a black plastic piece where the cup holders come out of.

gadget: I was concerned over the same issue...

Some may remember that I tried to change my SSII order from ext. PS to ext. FR but wasn't able to before production.

I'll have impressions & pics up after the car arrives next week with ext. PS & Al trim.

if you go extended then CF leather looks good. if you do not go extended the bruashed alum looks better as it breaks up the all black dash.

Thanks,
gadget:

you are right, what little free time is normally spent with the car these days.

Like SSII, PS is a color that difficult to capture on film. These night shots are horrible. The pictures taken with the flash give the wrong impression of the PS hue... The real color usually appears as a darker gray as shown in my weak attempts to capture w/o flash.

Thankfully, a professional photoshoot may be set up for later this week...

This duller hue is actually closest to reality:

flash-distorted color:

I am very happy with the extended leather option, the soft texture "on the dash" gives the interior a more comfortable feel.

My worst fear turned out to be the exact opposite... a grand slam! The silver-silver-silver option is not too much, in fact the colors all compliment each other beautifully. The silver rings on the speedo & tach + the silver idrive controller all tie in with the trim as well. I couldn't be more pleased. It's unfortunate these pics do not represent fully what I have mentioned, and I can only hope the upcoming shoot produces finer examples...more to come...

This shot(of the seats esp.) shows a more accurate representation of the PS color...
