Got 20k out of my OEM ContiSport 3's...what now?

Im at 20k with my original ContiSport 3's and Im starting to look at replacements. The S04 seem like a logical choice and theres a good deal on tirerack for them at the moment. Sounds good.

..except in reading reviews on the S04's im seeing life span of 10-12k miles. Is this normal? Why did my Conti's last me 20k miles? what mileage can I expect out of S04 for someone who drives like me. Or should i stick with the same tires again. Theres a big price diff at the moment between S04 and Contis.

I dont push the car that often at all. I tracked only once, and generally drive on the right side of the road with all the slow cars.

People can give their experience with milage they got out of a set but its important to remember there is a number of variables that can cause drastic differences. Factors such as speed turns are taken, levels of accelerations and braking, and even roads driven can drastically change your results to give either more or less distance.

If you got 20k out of the Continentals you will probably get about the same out of the S04s.

Im going to stop by my local Firestone and see what deal and/or price match they can offer against TR's current sale price.

OP, S04s are an excellent choice. For street summer tires, I'd personally put them just under the Michelin PSS

Excuse me sir, you're aware you bought the top of the model 3 series, the M3 and not the 328 right?
