I always like to say that people are most offended by the truth. If you call me fat when, in fact, I cut a lean, muscular figure, I'm not going to take much out of it. If, however, you call me fat and I resemble an amoeba more so than a human man in his prime - a fact that most people of the type would consciously prefer to avoid - I'm probably going to be rather upset about it.

I was surprised that they never once mentioned how bad the average American driver is. Granted, I haven't been inside UK proper in some years, so maybe they didn't find them to be that bad after all...

I love Top Gear and never miss an episode. It hits the torrent sites the day it airs.

I'm old enough to remember the show when Angela Ripon was doing it!

+1. Very confrontating for the south-western americans, especially those coming from Alabama, sad but o so true and entertaining, what was shown.

Truly hilarious, almost worth watching the repeat again tomorrow.

What were they thinking though?

I'll watch that one tomorrow. Sadly I seldom recommend it to my 'Yankee' car buds because of the Brit lingo and humor which is so much a part of the show and is likely lost on those from this side of the pond.

Case in point: In last week's episode when they are resurfacing that D road in Wiltshire, James is setting up road blocks to the theme music from 'Crossroads' the old ATV Soap (music written by Paul McC and Wings BTW).

I had to chuckle.

I would love to see the whole show.

These people seemed to think they wereren't really going to meet up with trouble. To them, it was just a hoot.

Most places, if you go looking for trouble, you are going to get it.

Just think if they had written similar things about Allah and drove around Tehran, Iran. Just think if they drove through a ghetto with something ignorant written on their cars (that would be easy... just something using the "N" word). I don't know what would get people seriously mad in GB. Maybe something about the queen. Remember the Nazis marching through Skokie? In France, maybe something about cowardice.

It was pretty funny in a dumb and dumber kind of way. And I don't mean the southerners being dumb. I most definitely mean the people who put on the show. It reminds me of Jackass: The Movie. I never did watch that whole movie, but that is what comes to mind.

It was entertaining. I would have liked to see what would have happened if they hadn't erased their mistakes.

EDIT: Your link is no longer valid. Try this one:

We don't get seriously mad, we're too reserved for that. They'd probably have had a load of old dears tutting and writing to the newspapers, but that's about it. Which is probably why they thought it wopuld be a bit of reasonably harmless fun.

Probably about half the population would be quite happy to get rid of the royal family, as they're often little more than an expensive joke. Though we can't say that as it would be treason, punishable by hanging!

No they're all there.

BTW, 'finalgear' does not host the files, it only links to them. The actual torrent files are over on www.mininova.org

I know they're on youtube, but each one I click on say they've been removed by BBC or someone else.
