..it is now offered as a $400 option starting in March at bmwusa.com....not sure what the specs are in terms of functionalities....but wondering if we can ordered and have it installed for cars built prior to March 09....

I believe its the same alarm. Build date 03/09+ do not come prewired for a later install.
