Power Steering

It feels like I dont have power steering in my M3? The wheel is unbelievably tight...its a little low on fluid but I dont think that can create this problem...Any ideas before I make a trip to the dealership thanks guys

With the car stopped, compare the feel of turning the wheel while the engine is off vs when it is on. You should notice a distinct vast difference. If you don't then take her in.

Thanks! The feel is exactly the same...I'll be making an appointment for this week. Any ideas on what could be wrong with the power steering

Hard to say, you will have to see what your service department tells you when you bring it in. Maybe its just something minor like needs more fluid or something. Keep us posted.

I hope it's just fluid. But that's what a warranty is for

A related question: My car is almost at the minimum level since new, and would like to top it off, as I never track the car. Is the Pentosin fluid available on regular auto-parts stores? Any other source other than a dealer?
And yes, if you race/track your car, it's supposedly not a good idea to have it at the max line since it can spill thru the vent hole. But for street use, I always like to have all my fluids topped off. Have a good one.
