Are Burble Tunes Bad for our engines ?
Was looking into the Evolve Tune recently, my question is are burble/overrun feature bad for our engines ? On another forum it says it cuts the 02 sensors life in half ? Anyone have the burble add on ?

I wouldn’t say it is exactly by half, but it will do more harm to the O2 sensors. Igniting the dump of gas to make that “burble” will increase exhaust gas temperature, which is the reason why it’s bad for o2 and the cats. Having said that if you go castles and don’t have emission to worry about then it’s fine.

I personally think it sounds horrible anyway. Super over exaggerated and "fake" sounding.

I have a full decat with burble. Done 30k kms in last 2 years on the burble tune, haven't had to replace a lambda sensor yet. Not that I'm advocating burble tunes or anything. To each their own.

Definitely makes the car sounds more broken than like a "racecar"
One or two pops would be alright, but the excessive crackling sounds like

This. The continuous popping on every decel is way too much in my opinion.

I love my Gintani tune. I cut my primary cats out, but left the res and secondary cats in. Its been about a year now and my car runs better than ever. As far as long term side effects I am unsure. Fingers crossed the tune does not cause issues, but as of now its 100% worth it. Nice thing is you can kind of control the amount of burble. It only burbles when you let off around 6k which I don't do often. If you let off the gas at 6k and let the trans slow you down it burbles like crazy which is not a typical daily driving technique. I usually push the clutch in and go to neutral when slowing down, because I figure new brakes are cheaper than a new tranny. That being said the burble is there when your really getting on it and not when normal driving. Perfect in my opinion.
