The abominable snow beast

First day of snow here in Northern Virginia and my beast is covered. No winter tires, etc and still made it home! woot! Thankfully the roads weren't too bad

happy holidays!

Haha, I pulled out of my garage this morning, and had to go up a 10% slope at best, made it 15-20 feet and got stuck...I meant to switch to winter tires earlier in the week but haven't had time

when i got home, i got stuck in my driveway b/c of a small slope, and the side adjoining access road wasn't cleared of snow. I had to shovel
the car out and shovel a path into my garage

then I luckily had some road salt from home depot left over from last year and dispersed that all over my drive way and adjoining road. We shall see what tomorrow holds...

i learnt something today
when you drive a rear wheel car in reverse, its a front wheel drive car
it was the only way i could go up a slope
everyone looked at me funny

Haha I had my Blizzaks on just in time. 270 was still no fun backed up at 3pm. I made it in my development which was not plowed very easily.

Summer tires are a huge no-no in the winter!!! Driving in reverse helps in a pinch!

i had my winters on already. I didn't drive it yesterday, don't plan on driving it today either. I'm trying my best to minimize road salt when possible. By Saturday, hopefully it would have dried out and the salt all blew away or aside.

i'm in Ballston and I take Metro to work.
Metro has been worse and worse every year. This week there were delays for teh morning rush 3 out of 5 days, incredible.

Aren't snow tires wonderful? My Z4M was a great snow driver with the Dunlop winters on it.

No, however I will say I did once or twice when I had to drive onto my driveway on a small incline where tires were spinning out due to the snow.
