Start by using both hands (helps if you have little helper hands), with 2 thumbs on top of the fender and remaining 8 fingers below the fender.
Use your remaining 8 fingers, with equal pressure distributed amongst each finger, LIFT upwards (straight up), thereby causing the tabs on upper fender to compress, and creating clearance space for the bottom fender tabs to clear the brackets where the tabs rest. Once the lower tabs have cleared, slowly release pressure and wiggle (up and down) and the entire assembly will come out. |

Side Grill Replacement
Quote:
I just bought a 2009 M3 Sedan and picked up a set of the matte black side vents. How exactly did you go about pulling the original ones off and installing the new ones? Any tricks or special technique so I don't break something? Thanks! |

There are plenty of threads on this - it's difficult. Search around. I almost gave up on my sedan, but finally just put some protective tape around the thing and did it with a screwdriver. No probs.

Just a small addition to an old thread....used latex gloves which improved grip and a hairdrier. Seemed to help along with all the previous advice. Wow...that was tough. As a dentist, I can say I've taken out a lot of teeth which were much easier!!
