That it is. The warranty program is stellar! I just hope this car will have looks that will wear well over time, generally most, if not all Asian cars don't.

Unfortunately I'm not totally sold on the Korean manufacturers. I've lived in Korea and toured some of their factories. They are smart and very industrious, but I'm still bugged by Hyundai falsifying the specs of their licensed Mitsu engines just so they could have bragging rights over the Japanese. I'm also not too excited about paying $38K for a Korean SUV, particularly when I can get a 135i cheaper. YMMV. :iono:

I'm very impressed with Hyundai's cars of today. If you've not checked them out, go to your local dealer and test drive a couple. The current Tiburon is a fun lil car with a very impressive build quality inside and out and it looks good.

This new rear wheel drive coupe is going to freakin rock for Hyundai. I believe this is going to be a beautiful looking coupe.

My only concern with the Hyundai is can they make it feel right - their engines and braking are very good (in both the Sonata and Azera) - but they don't do a good job of controlling roll and sharp pavement impacts - I'm not sure if they could switch to mono-tube shocks and stiffer rool bars - but their ability to provide a sporting suspension is the question.

If folks don't know me by now I'll have to interject this: I don't care what badge is on the nose of the car - if it 'feels' right, I'll drive it. Hell, "Ol' Yeller II" is my idea of a proper sports car.

BTW, when you ask Toyota who they fear, they'll tell you it's the Koreans.

Hyundai is catching up really fast. Look back 10 years and see how far of a progressive they have made thus far. If it can sustain the momentum for another 10 years it will be right on the heels of BMW and Audi.

If you are talking reliability, I don't think lowly Hyundai is at the heels of BMW and Audi. They are out front taking the lead, and BMW and Audi are jerking around and not fixing their same chronic issues that appear in the same models year after year.

With that said, if you are talking about luxury, performance, road feel, etc, I don't think Hyundai really wants to match BMW or Audi. They just want to produce inexpensive cars that are "good enough" for folks who aren't hard core into cars. They don't want to put out the best cars. Their goal is to put out cars that are good enough, but not too good that the price gets jacked through the roof.

I saw one that didn't have any camo, the first this I thought was that it was the new supra. I'm not joking. I'm a straight German car guy, and as long as this car's fit and finish along with not having a buzz box for a drivetrain, it will be a BIG possiblity that I will have to consider buying one.

4.6 litre V8, wow someones is definitely stepping it up in the performance coupe world. I bet this car will be a tuners dream if the price is right and the engine is potent. I am very very proud of Hyundai of late, their cars are simply great overall.

Haha I guess you can never please everyone with the looks of a car. I personally like how it looks but definitely agree it is a chick car. I bet this 2010 Tiburon will be different though.

Is the V8 also sourced from Ford? The 2.7L V6 that was in the Tiburon was the same motor from the Mercury Cougar.

Nope - the V* will be in-house Hyundai - the V6 will also be the 3.3 or 3.8L from the Sonata or Azera - the 3.xL V6 Hyundai uses is a pressure cast aluminum block, six bolt mains, and a forged crank - serious 'hot rod' stuff.

Hmmnn I hater to admit this but I was planning on getting a 135i or 335i a year after I graduate (save up some money to but down a big down payment), but buying a car before moving out (yes I still live with my parents while I go to college, hey it saves money) is never that smart of an idea.

If this car is potent and easily mod-able, and high 20 g's, then I might reconsider.
