Will this USB flash drive fit with the arm rest closed?

I saw a demo vehicle the other weekend and the space for a usb device sticking up with the arm rest closed seemed a bit tight. Does anyone with that option know how much room there is?

Would this guy allow the arm rest to close completely?

Should. It's 61mm long, but that includes the plug end, I believe. There is about 55mm from the top of the USB inlet to the underside of the armrest in the closed position. You could always adapt with a cable, also.

That one also comes in a 32gb version, BTW.

Damn Greg ... you knew there was 55mm of distance under there or did you go out an measure? Either way thanks!

Ya 32GB is like $140 ... a bit much and I don't have that much music anyway. Do you have this option? If so what are you using?

No, I measured. I've just got an iPhone now. I need to address the whole digital music thing. I need to re-rip my CDs at a higher bit rate (AAC 128 now), so I'll need a larger capacity flash drive or hard drive.

should fit most usb drives, i've try 3 different ones and they all fit fine. If not you can always use a cable that comes with it.

Ok if there's a cable then I don't need to worry about any of this. I'm just going to buy the cheapest 16 or 32 GB and be done with it.

this wasn't your question..but looks like from some reviews that the Transcend drive you are looking at has some issues with corrupt files. Just as a caution.
