2011 Frozen Black
I have an opportunity to purchase a 2011 Frozen Black M3 with 15k on the clock. My issue is the maintenance of the paint work, has anyone had the experience of maintaining a Frozen color? Is it worth the hassle or would I be better off buying a traditional color? The Frozen Black is an amazing looking machine! Feedback please

Paint is paint. The clear coat is not as reflective (glossy) so it will do a better job at covering swirrels and minor scratches.

I say go for it. I did, and mine is on a boat almost here as previously stated, paint is paint and it is the clear coat that is slightly different. No waxing and a little extra time and care.

Lessons Learned
I personally love my Frozen Grey Coupe. No need to clay bar, wax, seal, etc. ever again. Be sure to apply some protectant to the C/F roof though!
Use a very soft wash mit (sheep skin preferred). BMW does not recomend using anything but a camoise to dry; however, I've used micro fiber towels with absolutely no scratches/swirls. The BMW recommended bug remover is truly an amazing solution, and I highly recommend its use. Now, here's the "kicker": Do you plan to use a paint protection film on the vehicle? I just learned a painful and costly lesson in this area, and have finally figured out the right type of PPF to use on this "satin" finish frozen edition. DO NOT USE the 3M VentureShield matte PPF, period! If you do you will have an extrme contrast difference with a completely matte appearance, and you will be very dissatisfied. Go with the Premier Satin Guard, and be done with it. This is the closest film you will get to this special BMW finish. It has a slight "sheen" to it, and it's also soft as a baby's backside as opposed to the very rough and dust/dirt magnate 3M material. Good luck!

OP is in Australia so unfortunately he won't get that good of a deal. I'd say go for it, people have a misunderstood conception of Frozen Colours and how they are so hard to keep clean when in fact it is the total opposite.
