Valentine 1 Savvy?
I am looking at getting a Valentine 1 and Savvy seems like a good way to quiet it down in town.
However, does Savvy work on the E90 or is the OBD port always powered? Thanks. |

When the car is on, yes. At least it is on my '11 E92.

I think so. I have mine hard-wired but I can check it when I get homw if no one has confirmed by then.

I have the savvy in two of our cars and love it. Its great at eliminating the noise when sitting at stop lights or just driving through a shopping center parking lot. I have not, however, tried it in the E90. I'm curious if the OBD port is powered while the car is off as well. I was under the impression that it was always powered (based on the news of thieves gaining access to BMWs via the always powered port) but that could very well be wrong.

has anybody done this yet? I purchased this so I guess I can report back once I get it and install it if nobody has done it yet. I'm really hoping its not hot all the time, because it would be rather annoying having to plug and unplug it evey time you use the car

No need to find a power spot for hardwiring. You should still run the wire (a phone cord) behind something so that it is hidden.
BTW, Savvy plus V1 Connection or Connection LE (if you have an iPhone) really makes the V1 perform spectacularly. Use custom sweeps for this and turn Ka guard off. Cheers.
