First Time Track Event

I Recently went and participated at the AMS Track Day at Autobahn Country Club in Joliet. I was lucky enough to have Kris@VS Motorsports be my instructor for the day. If you guys don't know he is a very good driver and knows the tracks at Autobahn like the back of his hand. (He was the leader of the advanced pack at this event taking down all the high powered cars (full bolt on viper, z06 vette etc)

Here is my setup for the track:
Suspension: Stock with EDC
Brakes: Stock rotors, with Hawk DTC-70
Only Mod: Technocraft intake elbow, K&N Filter, and RPI Axle Back

My background, is very very limited. I have only done auto-x events and soon realized that what I thought I knew there was not right at all ha. Kris was able to teach me his lines and gave me many pointers. I did not run the best times but was in the high 1 minute area. ( I know its not great, but it was my first time)

It was a great event and I learned a lot.

Enough talk, here is one of the runs that I did, not the best one but you can see I improved ha (and yeah that GTI did pass me, it was stupid fast)

Here is Kris running the North Track, with no brakes left haha. Will have his south track run shortly

And here is his south track run (lapping people haha)

Don't worry about times, especially when starting out. You will get faster quicker and safer by watching your line rather than watching the clock.

Thanks for sure, I wasnt really worried about timing when I was out there, but it was nice to pass people after a few laps and not being passed lol

Looks awesome. Was at the full track yesterday. Lots of fun, and thats the point. It does feel nice to reel some people in but as previously stated, learn the line and the grinning will never stop. Hope to see you out there
