"Self wash"car wash near jersey city / NYC?

Looks like we'll get a break on the weather this weekend.

Does anyone know the location of a decent "self wash" car wash in jersey city or n jersey/NYC? I want to try and clean my car tomorrow and put it back in the parking garage till spring.

I won't let anyone wash my car, no matter if it's a hand wash or not. Most hand wash places use the same rags/mitts for every car and still scratch your paint

Yeah, that's the only self-service in JC. Just be quick and be careful.

I guess if it's dangerous, I'd rather drive 10 miles to somewhere like Spotless Car Wash / Laundry in Hackensack, NJ vs. 5 miles to this place.

I'm fine with driving somewhere if its safer. I just moved to Jersey City so I don't know the area that well....

Spotless car wash in Hackensack is good? As long as its safe, fine with driving. I definitely don't want to be looking over my shoulder while washing my m3 lol

That's what I ended up doing as opposed to going to the Culver Ave spot. Plus the one in Hackensack is 24hrs. You'll definitely get admirers there. In the spring and summer months I wash it myself on my driveway.

Ok great.... so i'll check out spotless. I assume its a "self wash" set up? I really only need this in the late winter / early spring. Once summer comes around I'm driving down to LBI every weekend and I wash the car down there.

Yeah it's a coin operated self wash. I usually bring my own wash mitt as I wouldn't dare use their provided brush.

I don't have time to wash my car especially in this cold. I get the car detailed spring time to remove light scratches from winter.

Brushless wash at Epic Auto on Mallory is pretty good and it does not scratch. Just make sure to go super early before everything is dirty. You can also get under carriage wash there. I am in DT JC and drive there winter time for under carriage wash. Make sure to tell the guy taking the money no brush on the car. Someones they like to use a long hand brush on bumpers to remove gunk that normally doesn't come off.

I agree that hand wash stuff does scratch especially later in the day due to same mitts being used all day. Again, going early reduces the chance. I go to City hand wash by Division and Newark ave due to close location. These guys do an OK job detailing but you are better off with a specialist.

Car wash on rt 139 by summit ave is pretty good too and owner is a car enthusiast. He had a Fisker Karma 2 yrs ago. He detailed my now sold 335d and did a pretty good job even did touch up of few small door dents(I gave him the paint) . I have seen M3s and range rovers go there.

I just went to spotless car wash in Hackensack. It's a great spot, I recommend anyone to go there if your looking for a safe "self wash" place. It's open 24 hours, all year around. A bunch of vw guys showed up, one gti was wide body with a supercharger, nice car. Looks like I crashed their car wash meet :-). They all liked the M, nice group of guys.

Gotta plus one that place! I have been going there since 2004 when I got my first 328CI! The best time to go there is during the summer late at night, there is no shade there so you can only wash your car at night. Nothing but nice cars there.
