Indicated, i have taken my M3 to about 165. No pics, but that is what i saw when i looked down at the speedo. The car felt like it was pulling passed 155, so either the speedo has a % of error, or we can do over the BMW suggested limit....which would be OK with me!

The car is limited at 161, not 155.
161 electronically. Don't care what speedometer says. They always read high and by how much varies from car to car but will most likely be between 165 and 171 indicated on speedometer.
This has been covered many times. I've seen more than a couple magazine articles that quote the 161 figure and I have personally seen it (and felt the limiter kick in) confirmed by GPS.

+1. I've had mine up to 170mph indicated, but my GPS said 162mph. I will be making a trip to Aachen to AC Schnitzer in the spring (only 30 minutes from my house) to get that limiter removed, then I will see what she can do. Right now there is too damn much snow on the ground...but I am having fun in the TT...gotta love Quattro.

I doubt if a supercharger would be required. There are lots of vids of bolt on M3's hitting 300kph (186 mph), and with the error in the speedo, it could easily be reading 190 with the car actually doing 180ish. C&D got their stock M3 up to 178mph on the Autobahn.

I hit exactly the same top speed in my stock E90 M3 DCT, the limiter kicks in at 170mph. A UK magazine tested the top speed of a E92 M3 with GPS and it hit 165mph - with the speedo indicating 170mph.
You can buy the M drivers package from BMW and they will partially derestrict the car to 175mph........bearing in mind they say the M3 is limited to 155mph , should be good for a true 180mph or so i would say.

Only in top gear are M cars speed limited. 5th isn't and you can easily get into the 170s!

I did 195 mph in front of Sembach AB (A63) on my MV. That unlimited stretch is only a couple of miles long. Blew one of my rear turn signal lenses off!

If you get the M Driver's Pack. (doubt still available), there will be no speed limit on the car. When I say I go over 190+ I am looking at the speedo and I know there is 5% error in it. However, the car feels a lot different and scary at those speeds. Wind noise is unbelievable and I feel something will break up from the front side of the car like bumper or undercarriage felts.

If you can catch a no wind weather and 0 degree pitched road, its not hard to see 300+ km/h on the speedo with that car. If you can get lighter wheels, I believe you can reach 330 without trying too much

My car is 6MT also..

I could of reached 170 with my e46 m3... however I told myself I wouldnt go over 165 without being lowered ever... Once I lower my e92 I want to hit 170+
