Mid-Atlantic BMW's Spring Dyno Day/Swap Meet: Sat. April 6th
Alright, the sign up list is officially full, thanx gents!!!
Hey guys, anyone in the Mid-Atlantic area interested in having their cars dyno'd, or just want to come hang out w/some M brethren...then this is for you! So, we're shooting for Saturday April 6th (rain date will be the following Saturday, April 13th)! I need at least 8 people to commit w/a max of say 15. (The event will be first come, first serve, no exceptions!) I would like to try to get people to pre-register, so that I can have an idea of how many cars will be there. Please reply to this thread w/your name and year, make, model of your car, and then copy and paste the previous name(s) to update the list so that I can keep a running tab. Frank Smith, from Tuning Tech FS (vendor tuner@ Mpact), will be conducting the testing. We will concentrate on dyno pulls only (unless time permits), as custom tuning is extremely time consuming. If, however you would like to make an appointment for some custom tuning at a later date, Frank will be more than happy to extend the Mid-Atlantic Dyno Day special rate (read on). I thought that we could start at around 10:00 AM, and run 'til maybe 5:00 or 6:00 PM. He would offer an M3Forum special rate of $65.00 (regularly $85) for 3 pulls with air fuel monitoring, a print out, as well as a professional opinion(s). All M3 (2001-2006) custom tunes on the dyno are usually $750.00, but he would offer a show special of $550.00 (dyno fee absorbed into this price). Newer M3's (E90,92,93) are usually $900.00, but he will offer a show special of $700.00. The new shop is really nice, epoxy painted floors and walls, a really nice office with a 46" Big Screen TV on the wall w/a Play Station 3...and several racing games for customers to play while they wait. This alone is worth the price of admission! Lunch & drinks will be provided! Even if you don't plan on dyno'ing your car, please feel free to show up to hang out with the other club/forum members and share in the activities. The last 2 Dyno Meets have been a blast! Some additional info: -It's a Dyno Dynamics dyno (typically reads about 10% lower than a Dynojet, but he can 'correct' to Dynojet #'s if we want). -For those opting for future tunes: This is a true custom tune, so he can maximize your tune (if you so desire), or he can dial in a safe tune if you plan on running, or only have access to, 91 octane fuel. -He has extracted almost 300whp from almost stock M3's (baselines of 278-282whp, deltas of 15-20hp and 8-15ft. lbs of torque) -He can Alpha-N tune as well -He has been tuning cars for over 23 yrs. -He can tune other cars besides M3's -Currently only set up for 2WD That's all that I can think of for now, but if anyone has any specific requests or needs more info., please contact me. The new shop name is Tuning Tech FS and it's located here: 4700 Belle Grove Road Unit 14 Brooklyn Park, MD 21225 Notes: -Frank will offer 1 free dyno to returning customers, who add more mods later to their car, and then want to come back to see if further tuning is required -Forms of payment accepted are Visa, Master Card, Paypal, & cash Thanx, Stan The List 1. Amid, 2001 BMW M3 2. Matt V., 2002 BMW M3 3. Adrian G., 2005 BMW M3 4. Kimokk, 2000 BMW 740 iL 5. Wil, 2004 BMW M3 6. CDillo, 2004 BMW M3 7. Abdul, 2007 BMW 335i 8. Matt C., 2002 BMW M3 9. Jeff D., 2011 BMW M3 10. Liam, 2006 BMW M3 11. Matt C., 2004 BMW M3 12. ?, 2004 BMW M3 13. Zubair, Z4M 14. Steve, 2008 BMW M3 15. Muz, 1996 BMW M3 Last edited by stosh1; 03-27-2013 at 09:12 AM.. |

Yeah, I don't spend a whole lotta' time over, but I figured that was you buddy! I can get Frank to raise the correction factor on his dyno if you want to dyno your Porsche again, so that you can hang w/the 'M' cars...

Hey guys, I was too tired when I got home last night to post up , but just wanted to send a quick shout out to everyone who participated, and for help in making our Mid-Atlantic Spring Dyno Day another huge success! (We'll do another one in the Fall.) Kudos to everyone!
It was nice seeing some familiar faces and meeting some new folks too, sorry I was a little too pre-occupied w/wrenching on cars for most of the day! I would have liked to socialize and check out everyone's cars a little more...hopefully I'll be able to concentrate a little more on that stuff next time! Also, I want to pay special thanx to everyone who was invaluable in helping out yesterday, whether they were busy helping me turn wrenches or helping Frank load cars on the dyno. Frank and I were actually a little under the weather & you guys were a huge help! Just to name a few: Justin (Mr. 28psi Stg 8 AA SC guy), Patrick (Mr. Porsche Cayman traitor guy), Dafoe (Mr. O2 sensor/valve adj. specialist guy), and special mention to Jeners (Mr. BMW Puerto Rico guy). A big shout out to 'Z' also, for allowing us to use his car to test out the new CPI Section II, and of course for his pics-as always! Also, a special thanx to Frank Smith again for hosting the event, the use of his shop facilities (Tuning Tech FS), and for his awesome tuning skills! He managed once again to make some incredible power out of these cars! Can't say enough, thanx again guys! EDIT: Guys, also wanted to thank everyone for their patience in waiting turns on the dyno...it's always difficult to juggle tunes vs. dyno time. We do our best, but it's inevitable that someone is going to be pressed for time. We just haven't quite figured out how to dyno/tune 15 cars at the same time! EDIT: Also wanted to thank Jaycent of MPACT for stopping buy to show off & give everyone a firsthand look at his new Max PSI turbo kit...it looked like a high quality kit & I'm sure we'll be seeing Jaycent's car on the dyno very soon & we'll be sure to give you those numbers! |
