The car shuts off completely at the middle of the road
Yesterday, I sent my 08 E92 M3 to New Century BMW to do the service. (nothing major, only changed micro filter, wipers, and brake lamp bulbs). After I picked up my car and I drove the car for 20 minutes then the car shut off completely at the middle of the road. Luckily, it was on local at low speed.
Called BMW roadside assistance to have the car towed back to New Century. I was pissed. What should I do to deal with the dealer for such incident? Thanks. |

Hahaha
I hope they can fix it right away for you. Did you get any warning on your iDrive? I heard bad gas can cause this too.

Never go there again, some dealership just don't give a sh*t about our cars, I have experienced the same situation just like you, I took my RS4 to dealership for 25000 service, when it was all done I took it back home, 5 mins later the engine check lights was on and tons of smoke came out of my exhaust, at that time I was on freeway doing 70mph, thank god the traffic was not heavy, and my RS4 feels like no power at all(even I floor the gas) the whole car was shaking, I just pulled it over, and it was shut off by itself.

Maybe it's just me. Seems like you might want to first, find out what's wrong with the car, and second, how the dealer handles it, before going on an internet rant about an incompetent dealer. If I understand, you haven't yet received an inital response from your dealer. Maybe it was a stupid mistake, maybe not. Like most modern cars, the M3 is a complex piece of machinery. And like me (and I suspect like you), technicians are not perfect, and sometimes they make mistakes in spite of diligent efforts to do it right. Good luck, and I hope your dealer turns out to be worthy of your business.

They need to tell you why this happened ~They owe that to you~
If you don't get a clear explanation look for another dealership if that is an option for you.

Just got a loaner car from New Century. The Service Advisor was polite. I will get the updates of my car on Monday. Hopefully, the technician will fix my car completely. Thanks for all the inputs.

I take all my cars to new century. Just had the M service there last week. No issues whatsoever and my cars always come out just fine. Theyve always addressed my concerns, fixed a few rattles here and there and never had a problem post service. Sorry to hear u had a bad experience but I've always been very pleased with them.
Prior to my first visit there I was very reluctant to go there because of bad reviews online but I told this to my SA before releasing the car and just gave them a chance. I'm very satisfied with new century |
