Front licence plate
I hate the idea of having a front plate, but unfortunately leagally I must have one in my city.
I know there's a few "hidden licence plate holder" being sold online. Just thought I should ask here first------for those of you that don't want to put a front plate AT ALL, but must do so to avoid police trouble, what method did you end up using? |

Are they really that strict where you are about no front plate? I too am "required" to have one but go without because the likelyhood that I actually get stopped for this minor non-moving violation is slim. Even then, it's only a small fee if you do get nabbed for this bs.

I went years before I got pulled on the front plate. Small town, once they figured it out they pulled me regular. I never did get the plate though, what I lack in intelligence I make up for with stubbornness.

LOL... luckily I live in a big town. So big I could drive around with dead bodies on a roof rack and nobody would look twice.

The cops in my city have nothing better to do than giving tickets for 1) no front plate and 2) tinted windows.
Let's face it. We roll in M3s. They roll in beat up Crown Vics. I can understand the jealousy lol. |

they are required in my state and I've been pulled over a half dozen times in my life without a front plate and never had an issue. Depends on the cop I guess?

I roll w/o a front plate. One day I got pulled over for doing 85, cop let me go on the speeding, but wrote me up for the plate. Seemed like a fair trade to me. I fixed it then removed it. Since then no FP for me.
I keep the front plate in the cabin between the e-brake and passenger seat. If I feel the need, I just pop it onto the dash (also when I park). I've gotten one ticket in 12 months from a meter maid in Manhattan Beach.

M3Fest has a great bracket for your front tow hook that fits E9X perfectly with great bumper clearance and is made out of aluminum. I heard that this is hand made for E9X and it shows as it's fitment is far better than that seen on the mini store.

Hence I was looking at the motorized hide-away plate, so if I fear there's cop danger nearby, I could summon the plate at the press of a button lol. |

Vancity RCMP woo! If u gonna rock front plate, just do normal mount. Off center tow hook use looks bad to me...makes the plate get more attention....motorised is bound to get messed up.

Yeah, looks like I'll have to find a way to mount the plate without drilling holes. Gotta be creative.
Man. Next time I see this cop, I'm gonna stop and ask him where the closest donut shop is lol. |
