Daytime running lights on or off?
E90 black m3.
Do you have the setting set to have running lights on or off? Why or why not? Also, which LUX do I buy. They all look the same! |

Off in the city. On if on rural roads. (It makes a difference in visibility.) On my E39, though, I disabled them because they were the inner lights only, and from a distance that can make the car appear further than it really is. At least that's my own bias.

+1, though in my case, I believe they're permanently on due to Canadian law requiring all vehicles to run DRLs. I doubt I'd turn them off even if I could, it's one of my favorite BMW traits.
Can anyone with a Canadian model confirm if you can disable the Angel Eyes through iDrive like our friends to the south? I doubt it very much, but I can't verify myself as my M3 is in winter storage, an hour's drive away! |

Day time running lights could save your life, and at very little cost to you.
The most common way to die in the US for people <45 years old is in a car accident. After 45 years old, the most common ways to die are cancer and heat attack. Check out the CDC website (centers for disease control and prevention). Another reason, People recognize the lights, especially other BMW drivers. I recognize the lights and think "what BMW is this in my rear view?" We are all in the same club, but M3 rules. The M3 is the best that BMW has to offer. I could of got a M5 or M6, but the M3 is the best car they make, and the sexiest. |

And just to be clear, it's not an insult to any of you people. Some times other people don't look and change lanes without looking. The lights help. Last edited by AshyLarryMP; 02-07-2013 at 12:27 AM.. |
