I always do it in 0-60 time My old ride 335i jb4 with dci ,exhaust can get low to mid 4s easily instead of high 4s to low 5s in the m3.

Ehh - FBO 335i (E85, etc.) would run a stock M3 to ~60. This coming form someone who went 335i -> M3. Keep in mind that there's no question that the M3 is by far the better machine.

Oh and on the 6MT point... I'll let Chris Harris and his 599 tackle that...

1st, a stock M3 can easily do low 4 on the 0-60!

Like someone already said, 0-60 is a race for slow cars!

Seriously, when is the las time you stopped a race before shifting in 3rd gear!?

0-60 is not a race. Take the 335 to 130 and that's it, also the brakes are shitty and soon as they get hot your F---ed. Now getting back on track and answering your question OP I have a 6spd manual and after driving the DCT I wish I went with the DCT the first time around. Both are great choices but I feel the DCT is better choice for this car. Good luck and remember to report back.

Don't get me wrong -- I'm not overly concerned with straight line speed. After all, I made the switch to a high revving NA engine with a 6MT...I'm slow as heck off the line.

I was simply responding to the comparison of off-the-line speed between an M3 and FBO 335i -- not the value or necessity thereof.

If driver involvement and not out-right speed is what you're looking for, go for the 6MT. If you want to scare off all those FBO 335i's off the line, go DCT.

I have a 2009 e92M3. Go DCT. Manual doesn't compare. Try it for yourself. The shift mechanism is so smooth and fast it makes your head spin.

M3 works best with a DCT because it revs so quickly and has an insanely high redline. IF you're coming from an Automatic 335i, the M3 with DCT would be a definite upgrade for you!
