I love the gt-r, but I can't get over how huge that car is. You look small standing next to it!

Lol. Like I said, I'm still trying to get the feel of it. Had it less than 24 hours. My friend with a modded Z06 already wants to run.

Your sons about to be the coolest kid in kindergarten when he rolls up in the GT-R....lol

Congrats!

How do the gt-r's hold up over time and mileage if your going to DD? I would imagine being a nissan they do pretty well.

Maybe its just me but I would take a BMW over a GT-R or Corvette anyday. I'm more for luxury and practicality over speed anyway (my 335i is plenty fast enough). Nice car though just different strokes.

Nissan been cutting corners lately too. 2.5L engines (at least in my dads 03 Altima) are known to completely die around 100k miles due to serious problems which Nissan denies.

I heard that tranny on GT-R has some problems too....dont know if its fixed now

At least Nissan is getting a 100K when they die, when 335's are dying just miles away from the dealer of hpfp!

Firstly may I say I am very jealous of you, the GTR is an amazing machine and yours is in the best of all GTR colours, one of my most favour of cars. Next is a question, did they (the dealer) give you a service deal or at the very least estimate the yearly service bills you expect to see.

Reason I ask is you no doubt have heard the horror stories about yearly costs to run one and I reckon it was probably one of the first things you discussed before handing over the readies.

Are they are bad as they are made out to be?

I've done a LOT of research. Yes and no. A lot of it is myth (brakes). You can go aftermarket for a ton cheaper. Tranny fluid is costly at $1000 at 18k miles. Oil changes should be around $150 at Nissan. That said, it's kinda comes with the territory. I know what I'm in for.

As for the color...it's really pretty cool. Gunmetal metallic. In the light, it shows some brown and gold. In the shade, more of a smoke silver. You have to see it to understand, but I like my choice too! Obviously.

I thought some of it was BS, though I do know a local guy who has raked up some huge bills but he tracks a far bit so like you said it comes with the territory and if you play hard then expect to pay hard for the pleasure.

It's kind of similar to the Vapour Grey I had on my XF. Depending on the light it too would either look brown/gold or deep silver. Two different car companies with very similar taste on what looks good, and two guys (yourself and I) that know a good thing when we see it.

P.S.
Keep us posted on how your time with the car is working out and of course the things you meet on your journeys, if you know what I mean.

Amazing car! I'd never be able to afford one (sale price or maintenance) myself but I wish I could!

He had a BMW now he is trying something else.

Good for you OP.

Variety is the spice of life.

My 07 335 was far from luxurious even when it was running and not on a lift.
