Montecito Natural Disaster

Fellow Enthusiasts-

Saw a thread after the Santa Rosa Fires from a local member sharing the devastation and asking for thoughts and prayers. I thought that was pretty cool, as well as the response.

Here in Santa Barbara, the situation is unfathomably. Google some photos and videos. 14 ft of mud and debris in some areas, boulders the size of buses that rolled from the top of the mountain and straight through homes killing residents, so much debris that rebuilding in some areas may not even be an option ever again. My best guess is that it will be the better part of a year before the areas are even able to function, and multiple years before any semblance of normalcy/pre-disaster conditions. 2 of the 20 dead were family friends, and multiple other friends are lucky to be alive.

Keep us in your thoughts and prayers. Santa Barbara is one of the most beautiful towns (with some of the most wonderful driving roads) in the world. When we are back on our feet in these impacted areas, come for a visit, eat at our restaurants, stay in our hotels, and buy something to help our businesses survive in these areas. The original Bimmerfests were in Santa Barbara, so it is an BMW enthusiast community; home to many well known auto industry icons.

Thanks
