No hard braking for 1st 300 miles.

PS. I'm wondering how long it is before someone gets on here and start telling you how it is ethically and morally wrong to do what you did, yadda yadda yadda.

PPS.
It's not ethically and morally wrong. It's just plain retarded dumbsh_t behavior. Statistically, someone who thinks it's "awesome" to weave in and out of traffic at 100mph will eventually kill themselves, or worse, somebody else...then you're "really sorry" and "you didn't know any better" and yadda yadda yadda

I must say that this experience today was very very liberating. It was the absolute best time I have had driving a car in a very long time. I threw on the shades, rolled down the two front windows, opened the sunroof all the way, cranked the tunes to max and hit the interstate. I was weaving in and out of traffic and hitting straight aways at over 100mph. Totally unbelievable experience! My hair looked like Kramer when I was done, but such a terrific thrill! I am so looking forward to springtime.

If the weather is nice your way today, let it all out and punch the car for what it's worth. So liberating!

I went for a ride similar to this a few days ago (before it started pouring). I took it back to San Felipe where the last Norcal meet was. I was doing 60mph around some corners and 70mph at some points. It's up in the hills so I didnt dare to to 80+. I rolled down all the windows, opened up the sunroof, and turned off the radio to hear the engine roar. It was sooo fun. THe weather was great!!! Sometimes you just wanna take the E90 out and have a blast.

ps- it is very liberating indeeed.

Maybe in Nashville, highways aren't as crowded as they are in Southern Cal. I've done crazier things so I have little room to speak, but weaving in and out of traffic at that speed also puts others' safety in jeopardy.

I've hit 120 with sportbikes, and 162 in another car, but then again, I've lost two friends to accidents due to stunts like this. Sorry, no disrespect, but it's just not worth the few seconds of pleasure. My 2 cents.

exactly! that's why I dont do that. Even if I do weave in and out, it'd be at speeds of 70 or so. I only go crazy when there's nobody around. Even then, not too crazy as to fuck up my car.

After 3 weeks I broke 1200 mi, and it was quite enjoyable to hear the engine roar. I have a Steptronic, but it was still fun in manual mode to crank it. 6 seconds later, tho, I had reached my cruising speed. I get a thrill from the G's, not top speed. I do enjoy the handling, and there are plenty of hills and curves in Western PA.

Heck, if straight line speed was what I wanted, I'da bought a Mustang. The BMW is so smooth at 80, though, I can see why someone feels like they need to break 100. My opinion on speed is evident on the 55 mph compliance thread. Need some Druids to make our roads safer.

Good for you, bpbenda. It's what living is all about.

Well said.
Being aware of you surroundings is key to fast driving.
I will admit that I speed on highways 100+ constantly, when the time is right.
I'll take my e91 as fast as it will go. At the right time.
Please don't waste our time telling how thats wrong.
There's been a surpisingly small amount of soapboxes in this thread, lets keep it that way.
Anyway, like I said, I speed alot, but haven't had a ticket in 7 years, and have never been in a car accident. I am always aware of everything going on around me, am constantly looking far ahead, and in all my mirrors. For 18 years I've taken every car I've had to it's limits.
If you want to drive fast, but aren't sure of how to do so go take a drivers school on a track.
Growing up my best friend and his dad raced carts, then stock car etc.etc., and I was taught early on in life how to drive fast, safely.
Driving fast is too fun , and worth some calculated risks.

Safe driving where it's required. I recommend you to try and take your car to a closed course (local raceway) to pull the full potential out of it.

I don't think anyone has a problem with the guy doing 100mph. I admit I do it all the time too, but it is when you do it weaving in and out of traffic that it is just stupid. There is a time and place for everything, and if you want to drive fast, atleast wait for the time where you don't have to endanger other people.

My roundtrip is 73 miles per day when I have to go to school and 55 miles when I just have to go to work. I got the E90 to use as a daily driver. I have a much faster car for fun on the weekends.

I used to live about 1/4 mile from work, and I would often drive. Usually it was because I had to go to school immediately after leaving work and the time it would take me to walk back home and get my car would cause me to get stuck in rush hour traffic.

I actually lived in an apartment complex that was right next door to my office. My front door was about 100 yards from the entrance to the building. Problem was the apartment complex was fenced in and I had to walk all the way out to the gate and around the block to get to my office, which was about a 1/3 of a mile. I still walked whenever I didn't have anywhere to go after work.

Then I decided I wanted to buy a house, which in Atlanta means you have to move 30 miles out of town unless you can afford $300,000 for a basic 3 bedroom house. Now I have the big commute, which I don't mind now that I have the E90.

The good thing about a ‘premium’ German car is that with all the windows closed, you can’t really tell when you are going 100 mph.
