Porsche 917 at the track

Just an amazing car with a lovely sound. Nothing like old school rev matching downshifts .

Sounds fantastic even while being babied with those slow changes.

Old School??? That's how I drive everyday! Throttle blip down shifts are a must for maintaining the cars momentum and keeping the engine in its power band.

I have a feeling that the 917 driver is also clutching out when in neutral, blipping the throttle, and then down shifting; hence also smoothing the shift and saving the syncros (as I do every day too)

I sold the M3s BC coilovers, CSL aero, ZCP wheels, muffler so it looks just like a stock E46 M3 but with painted reflectors and flush E92 M3 18"s. The S13 is under the knife with the widebody fenders, skirts, and bumpers being fitted before getting prepped for paint and the motor is out, awaiting a new Precision 6265 turbo and HKS cams, shooting for 550whp and still weigh only around 2800-2900lbs - you'll see some teasers pretty soon

Sounds good, I'll be keeping an eye out. I prefer the normal body S13 but i'll wait and see how yours comes out. I'm just a fan of the "less is more" approach.

I usually am too, that's why I'm not going with super aggressive aero (not even putting a trunk spoiler) and the fenders are only minimally wider, just so I can run wide wheels and tires without stupid camber, that and I tapped the wall with my rear quarter panel at a drift event so I have no choice but to cover it with over fenders. It'll also be an OEM color with white wheels instead of deep dish polished ones.

Great video JTB....and agree an amazing car. As far as the deliberate shifts, he was definitely double clutching and they weren't all that slow for a transmission that was known to be balky. Plus he was probably trying to avoid this journalist's nightmare when he missed a shift on a 917: jalopnik.com/5977720/auto-journalist-sued-for-174000-for-blowing-a-porsche-engine
