E46? Why hasn't anyone recommended getting a 135i? With a tune(only 400$ for jb4) you can beat the m3, its lighter, and you can get ones cpo with some form of warranty for around 25kish. Add a few more mods and you would be destroying cars worth way more and be in something around 09+.

I actually drove a e92 m3 of the same year as my car a couple months back and while the v8 sounded nice and the handling was definitely more solid, i actually liked the powerband in the n54 a lot better cause it has more usable torque around town. It also has better gas mileage.

Not sure that applies to the OP, but if his parents are cool with him driving an M3 and living at home what's the problem?

Very well put Plutonium. I live at home (and not ashamed of it.) Here in Hawaii most families live under one roof (with remodel) since the home prices are so high, typically $1m for a standard residence. Cost of living aside, I enjoy being close to my family and dogs.

My parents were against it at first but after a few weeks and drives they love the M3. Of the 30 cars I've owned they say this one is best and is a keeper.

Your comments always seem to amaze me. Especially coming from a Vendor. Why are you so negative? Just asking ...

I like to keep you on your toes. Seriously though, I often wonder why people think vendors should pander to everyone. I'm an enthusiast just like everyone else, with an opinion like everyone else. I am honest and up front, period.

I am not a big fan of these 1 series either... a 335 would be a nice alternative though

Not sure how that's being negative. If you have to ask if you can afford an M3 (which IMO, the OP can't. Not with parts costing the way they do on this car.

Lady: Do you drink?
Man: Yes
Lady: How much a day?
Man: 3 x 6 packs
Lady: How much per 6 pack
Man: about $10.00
Lady: And how long have you been drinking?
Man: 15 years
Lady: So 1 x 6 pack cost $10.00 and you have 3 packs a day which puts your spending each month at $900. In one year, it would be $10,800 correct?
Man: Correct
Lady: If in 1 year you spend $10,800 not accounting for inflation, the past 15 years puts your spending at $162,000 correct?
Man: Correct
Lady: Do you know that if you hadn't drank, that money could have been put in a step-up interest savings account and after accounting for compound interest for the past 15 years, you could have now bought a Ferrari?
Man: Do you drink?
Lady: No
Man: Where's your ******** ferrari then?

Go for it....

+1

Vendors don't come here to make internet friends.

I am also more likely to buy from a vendor that tells me what I need to hear, not what I want to hear.

Agree. M3 or 328's are basically the same car for non car fans.

You would think that an even more expensive car such as a 911 Turbo S would be more of a lady getter, but its not. I have a friend who owns one, and he admits that he spent the $180k to impress the ladies, but it's only guys that approach him.
