56 miles/90 km seems a bit high. No way to prove whether the car has been test driven before you bought it though it is possible it was driven from another dealership. While you'll never know, I doubt the dealer allowed someone taking a test drive to really push the car. Frankly I wouldn't worry about it, just enjoy the new car!

I think there is a difference in acceptable miles on a car that ordered from Germany and one from dealer stock. For an ordered car I would have an issue if 10 or more miles and ask why? From dealer stock. Less than 50 seems right but would take 100 miles if a car I wanted and a decent price

Mine was in stock at the dealership. I got a better discount on it and didn't want to wait when they had the exact model with all the options I wanted in stock. Well, except 1, but I am glad it had it because I changed my mind about it - looks better with it.

The dealer said it was new, that no one has test driven it. Could that be true? The dealership is in Canada, in a somewhat remote place - quite far from other dealerships, like maybe 40-50km, and about the same from the airport.

Is it normal to have such a milage on a "new" model in stock at the dealership?
I hope you got a good discount ... like invoice.

I've been to the dealership a few times and the car is always in the same place, indoors surrounded by cars. Unless they moved all the cars or somehow opened extra doors (I looked and couldn't find any), I don't think it was test driven - at least not often. I'm sure you're right about the dealer being careful with the car, I saw how he even took care to open doors gently and not even place paper on the seats in case it would cut the leather.

I'm not gonna let 90k deter from my enjoyment of the car! I got a decent deal, too. It would've been nicer to get closer to invoice, but I learned a lot about negotiating for next time.

I was mistaken, it had about 70km after they took it for gas (3-5km) so if it was around 65km it's still a bit high but more acceptable.

I looked around some other cars, one that just got delivered had 25km and some even had over 40km. The dealer said its normal, that's what they get from the factory. I guess exporting to Canada requires more testing or something.

6 when it hit the dealer. Up to 9 now with dealer putting in Shell 93 vs. their onsite fuel.

It will be impossible to get 0 reading. They need to drive the car from factory to the parking lot and later to the delivery truck at the least. For US bound car, it will be an additional port from and port to. VPC check and another parking and trucking. Of course the dealer will do some test drive.

At the least, the main odometer reading will say 0 but the trip display will say 0.5 or less. My 2 ED readings are 0.4 and 0.5. But it will show 0 on the odo.
