I dont mean to be a snob, but that car sounds crappy... it may just be the video though.

Looks like the first two gears are really closely spaced - in the 1-2 shift, the 2nd gear started at 6k rpm! It's totally optimized for 0-60 times. The 2-3 shift, the 3rd gear started at around 5k rpm. But nevertheless, quick. I can't imagine the 370Z with 700 less pounds!

Second gear is completely useless it's so short.

well the car does have 7 gears...theres some room to play with the ratios. i think car and driver said a generous option sedan is 3700. though i have also read conflicting reports of lighter weight.

Very short indeed......Even though it has seven gears, the car was still hovering around 2.500rpm at around 80mph in 7th gear......Comparatively, my car with 5 speed auto does 2300 rpm at 80mph.....higher rpm tends to affect the highway mileage ........In simple words, the lower the rpm in top gear, the higher the highway mileage

if you time the vid it hits 60 in just a hair over 5 secs. that's pretty fast.

Oh great. The BMW fanboys are in here crapping in a thread about another car again.
"meh" "nothing special" Why do you guys even post in the General Automotive section? Just stick in the General BMW section and spare us your stupidity. Thanks.

only three people complained (one is an obvious fanboy, the other two just kinda said it wasn't anything special)^

I'd just like to point out that I don't mind "valid criticism" about other cars. It's just the fanboy comments that bug me.
For instance, Valid criticism might sound like this: "I don't like the stock RFT on a 3 Series. It makes the ride harsh, and makes a lot of road noise." But when you call a car that can do 0-60 in 5 seconds flat "meh" or "nothing special" especially when a stock 335i is rated slightly slower than that, it makes the thread look fanboyish. Also all the "I'd never pay $$$ for a Nissan" comments are just ignorant.
