Anyone with extended warranty!?! Chime in thanks :)

Hey everyone. I just picked up a 2008 M3. It's super mint. The previous owner only put 14,500 miles on it and was very anal about the car. It was taken in the dealer every 4k for oil changes and it never had a mechanical problem/failure. The car feels like brand new. But it's out of warranty. I've called around and got some options.

BMW power train plus 2yr/24k for 2800$.

Or

Fidelity PLATINUM bumper 2 bumper ( which claim to cover all expect wear and tear item such as paint interior break pads etc. ) for 3 years/36k for $2250
From the dealer I usually go service though.

Now I know the fidelity deal sounds fantastic but it sort of sounds to good to be true. And I'm scared they may decline huge $$$ problems/repairs.

I'm not really worried about the car. It seems so solid. But rod bearing failures coming up more frequently and the throttle actuators and it might be worth the extension. Let alone catastrophic engine or transmission failure.

What do you guys think?
Thanks

I also went with EasyCare, based on personal and online recommendations.

Haven't had to call on them yet, but having the coverage does make me sleep a little better at night. I like the idea of a $500 bill instead of a $5000 bill if something goes wrong. I chose 3 years / 85k miles / $500 deduct.

Fidelity has a very good reputation in the Porsche and Audi community. I have also heard good things about Easycare.

I suggest you talk to the shop that you intend to have work on the car and ask who they prefer working with and what experience they have.

Is it too late to CPO it or does that have to be completed at purchase?

CPO FTW

One major component fail and you would have made your warranty back. These cars are not cheap to maintain.
