Is it possible to proceed ED for E92 M3?

Only your dealer can answer that, and they probably don't have an answer. You can probably do it, but you won't get a Euro discount on an ///M car. If ED was available on the first M5's then you could probably arrange it for the M3.

I just called BMW North America customer service tonight to ask that very same question. They said they'd get back to me this week with an answer. I'll post it here when I get the reply.

I really want to take ED, but not sure if I'd want to pay for it out of my pocket if they won't give me the discount they give on the other vehicles.

In recent history, there has been no discount for European Delivery on M3s (or M5s) as far as the published prices go.

I asked my BMW dealer about ED on the M3 that I have on order and he said "ya, no problem, but just like all the rest of the M line, there aren't discounts like there are on the regular BMW cars." I guess BMW feels that if you have the jack ($$,$$$) for an M then why discount something that is difficult to get and that you would buy anyway. I'd already made up my mind to do ED. For me its about the experience, not about saving a few $! Just think about a new M at the 'Ring!!!

There's lots of threads about this but it basiclly works like this:
1. Buy the car from the BMW dealer of your choice
2. Tell the dealer you want ED.
3. On MOST BMW's you get a discount to pick it up in Germany. On M cars there IS NO discount!
4. Confirmation comes to the dealer that the car is being built. Pay for the car at the dealer (cash, lease or finance).
5. Leave for Germany, pick up car, drive the FU*K out of the car (but with in both the legal limits and the break-in limits).
6. Part of ED includes 2 weeks of insurance and the temp plate for the car.
7. Drop off car at one of something like 6-10 different drop off locations. BMW ships the car to the states. It then goes through the normal delivery process.
8. Car is delivered to the dealer they do thier prep and you pick it up.
9. Repeat the last part of step number 5!!

There's more to it than that but that's the basic deal.

I'm thinking of ED as a European vacation with a free (very nice) rental car. Tickets to Germany aren't that expensive. I only need to pay for airline tickets, lodging, food, and gas in Europe. I know I can do a 2 week trip there for about $2000 to $2500. Well worth the experience of sight seeing, driving the autobahn in a high horse power car, and driving the ring again. Much less than the price of an M.

I can't wait.

I did an ED on a 2004 M3. Very simple and straight forward.
It was a blast!
Great driving in Germany and Austria!
Can't wait for the new M3s! Will do an ED again!
Alas, no discount.

the European Delivery program. We appreciate your enthusiasm for our vehicles.

Yes, it is possible to purchase a BMW M3 through any authorized BMW center in
the United States and take delivery of it directly from the factory in Germany.
However, the M3 European Delivery program excludes the discount, and
participation in the program is at each BMW center's own discretion.
Additionally, availability of M vehicles to the European Delivery program is
typically delayed a few months in comparison to the availability date of the
vehicle to the United States market.

the prices are not out yet.. the best you can to is be on the list w/ a deposit.


for ED my guess.. expect Fall 07 before you can plan on one
