Thanks Aussiem3.
I didn't really explain the messages properly, but there is no actual tyre puncture. It says the tyre monitor system has failed. Here is a pic of the error messages. Anyway its with the dealer service guys now so will see what they say. cheers

Hi All - thought I'd add my experience with the exact fault that has been identified in this thread.
I recently pickup my 2011 E90 from non-BMW dealer and before i got it home these faults came up after 15 minutes... much to my concern. Thought is was the battery, so trickle charged for over 24 hours. Also disconnected the battery for 30 minutes as recommended by a BMW dealer but fault still returned after 40-50 minutes driving time. Anyway - took to local Euro car experts in CBR and they ran the diagnostic and found the Steering-angle sensor as the problem. Vehicle still under dealer warranty and the Dealer happily fixed up the bill...under $500 I think. Hope this helps anyone else trying to figure out what is going on. cheers, New M3 owner |

Good to know. Could be previous owner had a performance steering wheel that they removed before selling and potentially disturbed the angle sensor.

Hi guys, new here but just to chime in. I had the same issue as harpoon and turned out to be dirty wheel speed sensor. Road grime and brake dust interfere with the reading. These are worth a check and clean.

That's interesting MFKN3 because my next stop is to get an alignment check. I get a strange sensation driving across uneven road surfaces, for example changing lanes on the highway. Feels like wheels trying to track into the existing "groove". If you have been 4WD in the dirt and tried steering out of the existing wheels ruts/tracks, it feels a little like that.

My car didn't throw any 'codes' but when driving straight, my steering wheel wasn't dead centered which was enough to throw the wheel sensors and steering wheel sensor out of sync. BTW, apparently the wheel bearings contain sensors which work with the DSC and flat tyre monitor and I've heard of them occasionally going bad too. |

My car recently went into limp mode /engine malfunction. Cause is faulty brake vacuum pump. It was pretty obvious - you could hear the pump constantly running, sound emanating from passenger foot well...
2 weeks to arrive from Germany and $1,600 later.... |

Arrrgggg.. want to cry
Actuator bank 1 error Have been getting these same errors for last 2-3 weeks. Coincidentally right after I have lowered the car on Eibach springs. The car was not tracking straight so I was hoping the DSC failure is due to bad steering wheel angle sensor. I have since then installed new wheels and new tyres. The wheels were planned to be installed after the springs anyway. So even after alignment done a day later the error codes are back. I was able to clear the codes with Carly in the past but now they are not going away. Looking at around $1500 for the TVA part from Germany. Not sure how much for the install. BMW wanted roughly $2200 just for the part. I know it can be DIY but I will get the shop to do it this time. Don't want to screw up anything. Oh my car is just under 60k klms..
