Personal Property Tax? There ain't no such thing in this state.
There is vehicle registration tax and I think it's $140 +/- for 2 years, but it is dependent upon the weight, not the value, of the car.

I received a bill for more than $1500 for my M3 and it was decided on the assessed value of the car times a "mill rate" which is close 3% ...I dont understand WTF is going on...!!! the bill says personal property tax on your vehicle....???? this is CT , not NY!!

If you work in NY, get a PO Box there and keep your car registered in NY.

Hmmm...dunno on that one. Good question. For folks that own more than one house, couldn't you have a car in a state that is not the state you live in most of the time and therefore you'd have a license in one state and a car registered in another state? I'd think that'd be legal.
There are some troopers on here, I bet they could answer that one.
